Marvel's Spider-Man 2 confirmed for an October 20 launch; pre-orders start on June 16
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 looked quite interesting at its grand reveal at the PlayStation Showcase. However, it lacked one key element: a release date. Thankfully, it has finally been confirmed at Summer Game Fest today. Sony has also revealed some information about its Digital Deluxe and Collectors Edition. It is a bit later than the September launch window rumoured earlier. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it gives gamers some breathing room after Starfield drops on September 6.
Gamers can fire up Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on October 20. Pre-orders kick off on June 16 at 10 AM (local time). Benefits include some in-game cosmetics (two suits plus three colour variants), three skill points and a "Web Grabber" gadget. Much like most current-gen games, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will cost the equivalent of US$69.99.
The Digital Deluxe version costs US$79.99 more and includes a total of ten suits, two additional skill points and more photo mode items. Lastly, there's the Collectors Edition, which throws in a Steelbook and a 19-inch statue on top of the Deluxe version's contents. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Collectors Edition will retail at US$229.99. Gamers from select regions can purchase it directly from Sony, while the rest have to make do with local retailers.
