Researchers have independently discovered new security vulnerabilities affecting Intel and AMD processors. A non-side channel vulnerability named ÆPIC affects Intel 10th gen to 12th gen processors while a side-channel security issue called SQUIP affects all AMD Zen 1 to Zen 3 processors that rely on SMT. These vulnerabilities have not been exploited in the wild so far, but both CPU makers have suggested appropriate mitigation measures.

In theory, the DX9 emulation should allow Intel to focus on further improving the DX11 stability. However, it looks like the emulation is not exactly offering performance on par with a DX9 native GPU and there are rumors that DX11 could also be emulated on DX12 on the ARC GPUs.

Despite bringing former AMD GPU expert Raja Koduri to oversee the GPU business, the situation is not looking good at AGX. Right now Intel's GPU business is estimated to have brought losses of US$3.5 billion as it keeps postponing the launch of the Ponte Vecchio HPC GPUs and the ARC Alchemist desktop GPUs. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger is rumored to be pondering on selling off the GPU business.

LattePanda has finally decided to start selling the LattePanda 3 Delta outside Kickstarter. Intel's upcoming 13th gen Raptor Lake flagship, the Core i9-13900K, has put up some impressive numbers in leaked Geekbench 5 and Cinebench R23 benchmarks. The Core i9-13900K shows perceivable improvements in single-core performance over the Core i9-12900K. One of Intel's next-generation mini-PCs has emerged online in four retailer listings. Intel has announced that its Foundry Services have been chosen by MediaTek as a new chip supplier. @InstLatX64 discovered Intel's Xeon W9-3495 workstation CPU in a publicly-available Linux bootlog. The single-socket CPU has 56 cores and a 1.8 GHz clockspeed, along with support for AVX and AMX instructions.

The Raptor Lake-based Intel Core i5-13600K has made an appearance on Geekbench. In the first run, it nets a single/multi-core score of 2,012/16,054 and 1,980/14,225 in the second instance. Its performance cores boosted as high as 5.1 GHz during the test.

The Arc A770 has made a stop on Linus Tech Tips, a popular tech YouTube channel. The board was shown running Cyberpunk 2077, Tomb Raider, and F1 2021. Although we don’t get any official specs, the video tries to answer performance and pricing concerns, including Intel’s strategy of classifying games according to their level of optimization for Arc.

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi G 2022, a more compact take on the Redmi G 2021. After a plethora of rumors about Intel’s RTX 3070-killer Arc A780, the company has finally broken its silence on the GPU. However, the news is not a good one for Intel fans as it has now denied ever working on an Arc A780 board. Admittedly, this isn’t sitting well with leaker Moore’s Law is Dead who has repeatedly confirmed the existence of the Arc A780.

Lenovo has presented the ThinkCentre neo 50a 24 with an all-Intel set-up. Equipped with 45 W processors and discrete graphics, the ThinkCentre neo 50a 24 should deliver decent performance in a compact design. The ThinkCentre neo 50a 24 will be available in multiple markets from next month.

Until now, the MateBook D 16 from Huawei has been a 16-inch multimedia laptop with a good price-performance ratio. However, this isn't the case anymore with the new 2022 model, since the change to an Intel-i7 processor increases the price significantly and is also accompanied by some additional problems.
