Dynabook's 13.3-inch business laptop pleases with a bright, contrast-rich IPS display, an NVMe SSD and long battery life.

Lenovo's mobile workstation scores points with great input devices, good battery life and a Thunderbolt 3 port. But the laptop isn't able to reach its full performance potential.

Lenovo's gaming notebook displays all current games smoothly on its matte 17.3-inch screen (144 Hz, G-Sync, FHD, IPS) and also offers great connectivity: a combination of SSD + HDD, 16 GB of RAM (Dual-Channel mode) & a Thunderbolt 3 port.

Intel's Ice Lake platform performs convincing in the first reviews. With the Lenovo Yoga C940 convertible we recently reviewed another Ice Lake laptop, which directly competes with Dell's XPS 13 7390 2-in-1. In terms of battery life the Lenovo Yoga C940 is even better than the XPS.

Both the 14-inch Galago Pro and the 15.6-inch Darter pro models can be equipped with up to a Comet Lake Core i7-10510U quad-core CPU coupled with up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage (6 TB for the 14-incher). Standard features include a Thunderbolt 3 connector and 1080p matte display.

Intel announced its new Xeon W-2200 HEDT CPUs earlier this week. The Cascade Lake-X chips offer some upgrades over the current Xeon silicon, including clock speeds up to 4.8 GHz and 18-core/36 thread CPUs. Most interestingly, Intel is pricing the Xeon W-2200 family of processors significantly lower than previous Xeon CPUs.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 continues to impress as a great subnotebook in 2019, even if it's just a cautious model update. Nevertheless, it's likely to be the optimal mobile companion for many users.

After months of limited availability, Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is finally available with all the announced hardware options. This includes more affordable configurations with i5 CPUs as well as high-end ones with Intel Core i9 processors and OLED screens.

The ConceptD 9 Pro is using the same chassis as the Predator Triton 900, but comes tailor-made for demanding CG artists with Nvidia's RTX Quadro 5000 GPUs and a Wacom ERM stylus. It also packs gen 9 i9 octa-core CPUs coupled with 32 GB of RAM and dual-NVMe SSD storage in RAID 1, plus the usual host of connectors including Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort and HDMI.

Unlike other OEMs that immediately jumped on the Ice Lake bandwagon, Dynabook decided to stick with Whiskey Lake and powered the new Tecra X50 with a Core i7-8665U CPU. The business-class notebook also comes with a 15.6-inch IGZO FHD LCD display, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Acer has updated the Swift 3 and Swift 5 notebooks to offer Intel Ice Lake and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 options. The new Swift laptops are thin and extremely lightweight thanks to a magnesium alloy chassis. Both the Swift 3 and Swift 5 come with features such as Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 3, and a long-lasting battery with fast charge that can offer up to 12.5 hours of runtime.

Thanks to a full-magnesium chassis, the Mag-15 gaming laptop developed by Intel in collaboration with Eluktronics is the lightest and thinnest on the market right now. It also comes with one of the largest 94 Whr batteries and the cooling system ensures the best thermal performance to date. Powered by the i7-9750H CPU, the Mag-15 also integrates up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, up to 2 TB NVMe SSD storage and up to an RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU, all for considerably lower prices compared to established brands.

Some of Lenovo's most popular ThinkPad laptops, the X1 Carbon, X1 Yoga, T490, and X390, have been updated with Intel's 10th generation Comet Lake CPUs. The L13 and L13 Yoga have also been given a thinner, lighter design makeover.

The UltraFine 5K monitor by LG is typically marketed as an ideal companion screen for Macs or MacBooks. However, it mysteriously vanished from Apple's website not long ago. Now, it is back as a new model for this year.

The XPS 15 7590 has suffered from a severe GPU throttling issue under sustained load since it's release over a month ago, but Dell has finally pushed out a BIOS update to help fix the issue.

The connectivity-equipment maker Cable Matters has released a new docking station that can expand a MacBook Pro's output by up to 2x 4K at 60Hz via HDMI. This Dual-Input USB-C accessory can also support 80W Power Delivery (PD) charging and read microSD/UHS-II SD cards. It is available at US$189.99 per docking station.

Shortly after Apple announced the Mac Pro desktop earlier this week, AMD said that it is introducing two new Vega 20 cards for workstation users — the Radeon Pro Vega II and the Radeon Pro Vega II Duo targeted at high-compute workloads. The Radeon Pro Vega II Duo is the world's most powerful GPU at the moment with an FP32 performance of 28.3 TFLOPs. Sadly though, this GPU is only available to the Mac Pro and it will be some time before gamers can reap the benefits of Infinity Fabric on GPUs.
