Versatile Accell Thunderbolt 3 cable is Intel-certified, comes with 2-year limited warranty
It's not exactly cheap at $41.99 USD, but it gets the job done and it should hopefully last a little longer than most cheaper USB-C cables. We'll be using this cable for many of our reviews moving forward.
Following up on our Accell USB-C to USB-A adapter, the manufacturer has also provided for us an Intel-certified Thunderbolt 3 cable for use in our reviews. We transfer tons of files when working with laptops, smartphones, and tablets and it helps to have a reliable USB-C to USB-C cable for that purpose.
The bi-directional Accell Thunderbolt 3 cable promises up to 100 W charging (5 A, 5 V to 20 V) and theoretical transfer rates of up to 40 Gbps between two Thunderbolt 3-enabled devices. As usual, there is backwards compatibility all way back to USB 2.0.
We put the cable through a variety of testing conditions and devices including smartphones, external monitors, M.2 NVMe adapters, and Dell XPS charging and found no issues whatsoever. It should also support docking stations and eGPUs due to its relatively short length. The real test will be to see how well it can handle the constant plugging and unplugging we have to do almost everyday between different devices. The cable isn't braided which would have given it a better sense of longevity.
See the Accell Thunderbolt 3 page below to learn more about the cable or to browse through the dozens of other accessories that Accell has to offer.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
