Hybrid architecture at 28W. After Intel already launched the H45 Alder Lake CPUs a couple of weeks ago, we now get the first laptops with the 28W P-series CPUs. We had the chance to test the new Core i7-1260P in Lenovo's Yoga 9i 14 and the performance is very good, but at the cost of the power consumption.

Apple had tech enthusiasts turning their heads when it released the new Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable alongside the Mac Studio and Studio Display earlier this year. At a hard-to-swallow US$129 for the 1.8-meter version, and an even heftier US$159 for the as yet unavailable 3-meter version, let’s take a look at why this cord carries such a steep price tag.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G5 has been announced without a big show. Considering the scope of the update, a more opulent announcement probably was not necessary. since the new model is basically the P1 G4 with updated internals.

The refreshed EVO17-S / NT-17 and EVO15-S / NT-15 models can be equipped with up to an Intel Core i9-12900H processor and an Nvidia RTX 3080 / Ti dGPU, while the new 14-inch models pack a Core i7-12700H processor and an RTX 3050 Ti dGPU and come with powerful external dGPU options.

A Core i7 12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU ensure that all current games can be played smoothly on a 17.3-inch screen (FHD, 360 Hz). The notebook offers room for two PCIe-4 SSDs and features a Thunderbolt-4 port.

The new ZenBook S 13 OLED is powered by AMD's Ryzen 7 6800U APU with Radeon 680M integrated graphics and features 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM with 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, while the Intel-based Pro 15 Flip OLED convertible integrates a Core i7-12700H processor coupled with 16 GB LPDDR5-4800 and 1 TB of PCIe 3.0 SSD storage, plus an ARC A370M dGPU.

Updated. At its MSIology event, MSI has introduced upgrades to the Summit E16 Flip series with the new Summit E16 Flip and the Summit E16 Flip Evo. Both models are powered by the Core 7-1260P Alder Lake-P processor and feature largely identical specifications with the primary differences being with respect to the display and the GPU. The Evo version offers Iris Xe graphics while the non-Evo SKUs can be configured with up to an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti.

MSI has announced refreshed Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E14 Flip Evo business and productivity laptops. This year's, the Summit Flip Series gets an upgrade to Intel Alder Lake-P 28 W processors and features new security functionality such as Tobii Aware and Tile tracking. Both the Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E14 Flip Evo are Intel Evo 3-certified and come with Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E.

Laptops tend to get thinner every year, but is this really a good thing for a gaming system? We are not sure and the new Alienware x14 shows that a thin chassis requires compromises in terms of performance.

The new MateBook E from Huawei is a Windows tablet, which shares many similarities with the own MatePad series including the good OLED screen, great speakers, and good cameras. There are, however, some limitations when you want to use it as a productive tool.

The Portégé X40L-K with Intel Evo specs is Dynabook’s slimmest and lightest 14-inch business notebook to date, weighing just over 1 kg (2.31 lbs), while the 13.3-inch models weigh less than 1 kg. Processor options include the Core i5-1250P vPro, Core i7-1270P vPro, and Core i7-1280P vPro for added security.

The flagship of the T series was renovated last year, and another redesign is happening this year, due to the change toe 16:10 screens. Another focus: The new Intel Alder Lake CPUs and AMD Ryzen 6000, as well as a new screen option.

The ThinkPad T series is the most well known ThinkPad series, apart from the X1 ThinkPads maybe. Lenovo describes the ThinkPad laptops of the T line as workhorses and the workhorses receive a huge upgrade at MWC 2022. Mobile workstations are primarily supposed to be reliable companions for professional users and offer a lot of performance at the same time. The ZBook Fury 17 G8 basically meets these criteria, but we think HP wastes a lot of potential in terms of GPU performance.

The Acer Swift 3, a laptop for the masses: Affordable, solid, optimal performance, high portability, Thunderbolt, and a great display. What more could you want?

The TravelMate P4 scores points with long battery life, relatively low emissions, and a Thunderbolt 4 slot. Windows 10 Pro serves as the operating system. A plus: Acer grants the laptop a three-year warranty.

You can now get the lightweight ultrabook Schenker Vision 14 with a dedicated RTX 3050 Ti GPU, but still weighs less than 1.2 kg. The compact laptop leaves a good impression in many regards, but there are also some drawbacks and Intel's H35 CPU is not really convincing, either.

We recently reviewed the business system Latitude 14 5420 in depth. Particularly under prolonged load, the Core i5 performs better than average. The iGPU Intel Iris XE, on the other hand, is slow and does not reach the expected performance in our game benchmarks. However, the clickpad turns out to be the real buzzkill.
