LG launches a Best Buy exclusive 17-inch Ultra PC laptop along with the 16-inch version for the U.S. market

LG launched the 2022 Ultra PC laptops in Europe first around a month ago, and now the premium lineup is coming to the U.S. with 16-inch and 17-inch models. While the 16-inch variant appears to be the same as the European one, the 17-incher is a new addition that replaces the 14-inch model. Also, unlike the European versions that feature AMD processors, the U.S.-exclusive 17-inch model is powered by Intel’s Alder Lake-P processors.

The 16-inch Ultra PC 16 16U70Q is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U processor from the Barcello family released earlier this year, and only relies on the Vega 8 iGPU for graphics acceleration. Other specs include:

• 1920 x 1200 IPS LCD with 250 nit maximum brightness
• 16 GB of LPDDR4 RAM
• 512 GB or 1 TB NVMe SSD storage (can be upgraded via an additional M.2 slot)
• Port selection: 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.0b video output, plus audio and GbE jacks
• Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.1 connectivity
• HD webcam with dual mic array
• Fingerprint sensor
• 72 Wh battery.
• 0.6-inch chassis profile and 3.63 lbs total weight

Newly introduced this year is the Ultra PC 17 17U70Q model powered by an Intel Core i7-1260P. It also features an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti dGPU. The complete list of specs includes:

• 16 GB DDR5 RAM
• 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD + a vacant PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot
• Port selection: 1x USB4 40 Gbps, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-A Gen 1, HDMI 2.1 video output, audio and GbE jacks, microSD card reader
• Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.1 connectivity

Pricing for the 16-inch model starts at US$999 and can go up to US$1299 depending on storage options, whereas the 17-incher costs US$1599 and is a Best Buy exclusive.
