LG has announced it will start selling its Ultra PC laptop series in the Eurozone. To be available as the LG Ultra PC 14U70Q and LG Ultra PC 16U70Q, the pair rely on AMD Ryzen processors, which power 16:10 displays with matte finishes. Like the LG Gram series, the LG Ultra PC series also has lightweight chassis, among other features.

LG has introduced its Ultra PC series in the Eurozone, available as 14-inch and 16-inch laptops. Sold as the Ultra PC 14U70Q and Ultra PC 16U70Q, the pair are premium laptops with straightforward designs and modern AMD APUs. Specifically, AMD offers both with Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 7 5825U options, a pair of AMD Barcelo APUs. For reference, the latter has 8 cores, 16 threads and delivers up to 4.5 GHz CPU clock speeds.

Additionally, LG equips the Ultra PC 14U70Q and Ultra PC 16U70Q with 72 Wh batteries, which sit within 313.9 x 220.45 x 16.3 mm and 356.3 x 248.6 x 16.3 mm chassis, respectively. Supposedly, the Ultra PC 14U70Q achieves 21 hours of video playback at 150 nits with Wi-Fi off and headphones connected, or 16:30 hours in the MobileMark 2018 test with Wi-Fi on and the display set to 200 nits. By contrast, the Ultra PC 16U70Q should achieve 20 hours in the same video playback test and 15 hours in the MobileMark 2018 test.

It remains to be seen why the Ultra PC 16U70Q has worse battery life, though. For context, the Ultra PC 16U70Q has a 1200p display that peaks at 250 nits, compared to the 300 nit and 1200p panel that the Ultra PC 14U70Q has. Both machines offer 16 GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM and up to a 1 TB M.2 2280 SSD too. Separately, LG includes full-size HDMI ports and USB Type-A ports, plus more modern USB Type-C connections. According to LG, the Ultra PC 14U70Q weighs in at 1.29 kg, significantly less than the Ultra PC 16U70Q's 1.6 kg carry weight.

Unfortunately, LG has not outlined all pricing details or availability yet. However, the pair should be available later this month, starting at approximately €1,199 for the Ultra PC 14U70Q and €1,399 in the case of the Ultra PC 16U70Q.
