Schenker's slim Vision 16 models feature the world's lightest AZ91D magnesium alloy chassis weighing 1.45 - 1.6 kg. Powered by Intel's Core i7-12700H processor, the 16-inch ultrabooks come with 2560 x 1600 screens, up to an RTX 3080 dGPU and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

Schenker is expanding the Vision lineup with 16-inch ultrabooks touted as the world’s lightest in their performance class. Highlights for the new Vision 16 and Vision 16 Pro models include 16:10 displays, Alder Lake-H processors, slim magnesium alloy chassis, powerful GPU options, and a robust port selection.

Both models feature a 2560 x 1600 IPS display with 16:10 aspect ratio plus brightness of 350 nits and 99% sRGB color gamut, but the maximum refresh rate for the Vision 16 model is set to 90 Hz, while the Pro variant gets 240 Hz (optional 60 Hz power savings mode).

Even though there is a slight difference in weight due to the different cooling systems and GPU options, Vision 16 and Vision 16 Pro are both based on the same chassis manufactured from AZ91D magnesium alloy (also featured on the Tuxedo InfinityBook Pro 16), which measures 354 x 245 x 17.1 mm, and both come powered by intel’s Core i7-12700H cooled with liquid metal. The Vision 16 weighs as low as 1.45 kg (non-GPU option) whereas the Pro variant weighs 1.6 kg.

When it comes to GPU options, the Vision 16 model can be configured without a dGPu or with an RTX 3050 Ti that runs at up to 65 watts (50 watts TGP plus 15 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0). On the other hand, the Pro variant offers more GPU options like the RTX 3060, 3070 Ti and 3080 with 16 GB GDDR6 memory. Due to the slim chassis, these options are efficiency-optimized with TGPs up to 95 watts each (70 watts TGP plus 25 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0).

Maximum supported RAM capacity is set to 64 GB, with the Pro version supporting DDR5-4800 specs and the non-Pro getting DDR4-3200. The storage side comes with 2x M.2 slots each connected to the 4x PCIe 4.0 lanes.

Port selection prominently features a Thunderbolt 4 connector with charging function and DP mode and also includes 2x USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 connectors, audio jack plus a full-size SD card reader and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. The Pro version also packs an HDMI 2.1 video output, and the non-Pro is limited to HDMI 2.0. Other standard features like a 1080p webcam and full-size white backlit keyboard. Battery capacity is rated for 80 Wh.

The base configuration of the Vision 16 Pro now available on bestware.com for €1,899 features the RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR5-4800 RAM, and a 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD. The non-Pro version starts with Intel's Xe iGPU, 8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM at €1,549, but can be upgraded with the RTX 3050 Ti for €182.

Notebookcheck will receive a Vision 16 Pro with RTX 3070 Ti by next week and a full review should be published shortly after.
