Vivo has announced its newest devices in a Chinese event today (March 19, 2019). They are the X27 and X27 Pro. The X27 has 2 variants with either the Snapdragon (SD) 675 or 710, although they both have the same screen and single pop-up selfie camera. The Pro version has a larger display, and a more novel wider pop-up module with a dedicated flash.

In the second instalment of this two-part Shot on Galaxy S10+ story, I’ve spent the last couple of days in Melbourne at the Albert Park Street Circuit and in around town. The Galaxy S10+ has proved to be a reliable companion with excellent battery life and the ability to take great shots in a range of conditions.

The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has been launched today (March 18, 2019) in China. As expected, it is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor, has a 6GB RAM base model and has a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. This panel has some interesting HDR features, touted to enhance gaming and media experiences.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S10 models pack a serious punch and have been getting very positive reviews on the whole. This includes the Galaxy S10+, which picks up dual-front facing cameras to go with its triple-rear facing camera array. But there is one thing missing from Samsung’s camera equation that is letting it down when compared with the iPhone.

Roland Quandt has posted a new article in which he claims to set out every detail on the upcoming Huawei P30 and P30 Pro prior to their launch. This includes nearly every major spec and detail of the phones, including their relative RAM capacities, camera counts, new color schemes and battery capacities.

A few days ago, a series of renders pointed to a Pixel 4 XL design with a dual selfie cam set into its screen. Now, a Twitter-based leaker alleges that the smaller device from the same upcoming line will also follow this trend. However, its punch-hole will be circular rather than pill-shaped.

The 2019 Pavilion x360 15 in particular will be nearly 14 percent thinner (.94-inch to .81-inch) and 15 percent lighter (5.1 lbs to 4.3 lbs) than the 2017 Pavilion x360 15. A fingerprint reader, which has become standard on costlier models, will now be an option for the Pavilion laptops.

The Galaxy S10s are Samsung's first flagships in which the front-facing cameras peek right through their high-end OLED displays. However, their future replacements may not even require the cut-out in order to fit around a camera. These panels may provide a full-screen experience by hiding all their sensors underneath them.

Xiaomi's new gaming phone, so far known as the 'Black Shark 2', has been listed by the online retailer JD.com. Although this page does not reveal its price, it allows potential buyers to reserve a unit ahead of its launch date (March 18, 2019). At this point, the final cost of the phone will presumably be revealed.

It's finally here - Q has been released for download and use - albeit only on Pixel-line phones. On the other hand, this Beta 1 form of the OS is mainly meant for development and testing, not daily use. A mobile insurance and device company, Asurion, has announced its findings on a study about missing devices and cases in which their owners managed to get them back. The company reported that having a lockscreen showing a contact number resulted in 3 times the chances of recovering such a device. In addition, the use of a cross-platform browser is a good idea in case of phone loss.

A recent post on SlashLeaks shows real-life images of a device with Honor branding. The poster alleges that it is of the brand's 10 line - however, it can't be the pre-existing 10 Lite, as it appears to have triple rear cameras. Therefore, its contributor has dubbed it the Honor 10i.

Even though the Ulefone T3 looks very similar to Samsung's S10, the Chinese model is aimed at the premium mid-range market, since it comes equipped with the Helio P90 SoC from MediaTek. OPPO has recently unveiled a new name for some of its devices in the future on Weibo. It is apparently to be called Reno. This is not the only recent reveal for the Chinese OEM: it also has a new logo and set of 2019 flagship specs.

The popular tech YouTuber Lewis Hilsenteger has posted a video to his channel claiming that the new Samsung Galaxy S10 series' Face Unlock security can be hacked. Hilsenteger demonstrated this by holding his Galaxy S10+ up to a 2nd phone playing a video of his face, which appeared to successfully unlock the former's screen.

Huawei looks to be the latest wearable maker to give Google’s WearOS a miss in favor of an in-house alternative. According to Winfuture, the next Huawei GT watches will run the company’s LiteOS as it looks to differentiate itself from its competition.

A new update to the latest version of MIUI may expand the function of the under-display fingerprint sensor found in the latest Xiaomi flagships. It involves activating an array of app shortcuts when this module is used. The new feature will be found in the Mi 9, 9 SE and some versions of the Mi 8.

Months ahead of its launch, the OnePlus 7 has appeared in sale-page form on the retail website GizTop. It contains a list of specs with many details that may be plausible for this new release. On the other hand, there is no guarantee that it will prove accurate.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is one of the new additions to the flagship series. It has the smallest screen (and price) of all its variants, yet retains many of the new features associated with it. The S10e has been made available on Boost Mobile today (March 8, 2019) at an out-right price of US$749.

Shen Yiren Brian, VP of OPPO, took to Weibo to announce that the upcoming Find Z flagship phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and will also incorporate the company's new 10x hybrid optical zoom camera. The Find Z could also have a 5G variant and Shen claims that the phone will look different compared to contemporary phones in the market.

Thanks to the latest update for the PlayStation 4 and the addition of an officially supported app in the Apple App Store, the PS4's Remote Play is now available on compatible iOS devices. However, since iOS doesn't natively support the PS4's DualShock 4 controllers, gamers will have to resort to on-screen controls or a supported third-party solution.

The OPPO F11 Pro has been characterized as a phone that would come out with a pop-up selfie camera on release. These leaks have been vindicated at its launch. It was also joined by the F11, a second variant of the same basic phone, but with a water-drop notch to house its own front-facing camera.

The Meizu Note 9 is one of a handful of phones that rocks the new 48MP Samsung camera sensor. It has been launched today in China for prices ranging from about US$208 to $238, depending on the variant selected. However, it will not be on sale until March 11, 2019.

Eve Technology has slashed prices for its Eve V once again, having last held a flash sale just under three weeks ago. The 48-hour sale will end at 15:45 GMT on Friday with Eve Technology having reduced prices from US$300/€300 to US$600/€600 depending on the configuration.

Samsung is already preparing at least two new types of foldable smartphones to follow the Galaxy Fold. The new devices fold differently with one said to fold top to bottom, like a classic flip phone, while the other will fold outwards along the lines of the Huawei Mate X.

It has been reported that Corning is working on flexible glass that will be strong enough to use with foldable phones. Presently, foldable devices rely on plastic polymers because of their flexibility. However, Corning wants to eventually create a glass product that offers the useful properties of the plastic polymer screens but with the quality and hardness of glass.

Both the Alienware m17 and Alienware Area 51-m laptops should be receiving new display options at some point in 2019. This is according to Dell’s XPS and Alienware chief, Frank Azor, who has been spreading the good news on Twitter. Those interested in an Alienware m17 device will soon finally be able to choose the long-awaited 120 Hz display.

It’s a tough gig launching smartphone in the high-end market these days with even Apple hitting a downturn. If Samsung was hoping the vaunted all-new Galaxy S10 might help turn things around, pre-orders in its home market of South Korea suggest that it might have an uphill battle.
