New Lenovo ThinkPad laptops: T490, X390, T490s & T590 are now available
At MWC in Barcelona, Lenovo announced five new ThinkPad laptops for their business customers – two new compact ThinkPad X series models as well as three larger ThinkPad T series business models. Roughly a month later, the new ThinkPad laptops, which are all powered by Intel Whiskey Lake processors, are already available (with the notable exception of the convertible-model ThinkPad X390 Yoga)
In the major European markets like France, Germany or the United Kingdom, the ThinkPad T490s, ThinkPad X390, ThinkPad T490 and ThinkPad T590 are already customizable, which means customers can configure the machines with custom specifications. In the USA, the availability seems more limited right now, as only pre-configured models are available.
As is often the case with brand new technology, not all options are available right from the start. For example, both the X390 and T490s (which both share a motherboard design) are not available with 32 GB RAM yet. Also, various screen options like the brighter FHD screen with PrivacyGuard for the T490s, T490 and X390 or the 4K UHD screen for the bigger ThinkPad T590 are not orderable yet. Also, while the T490 and T590 are lacking the option for a dedicated GPU in the US as of now, both can be ordered in the European countries with the Nvidia GeForce MX250 already.
