The LG G8 ThinQ launch for the United States (US) market will take place on April 11, 2019. The Korean company's first 2019 flagship packs features such as the new Air Motion touchless controls, 3D Face Unlock and an Android Pie (9.0)-based UI into a phone with a 6.1", 19.5:9, QHD+ OLED display. The G8 ThinQ is also the first premium smartphone to feature Crystal Sound, LG's version of a display designed to also work as a speaker.
The G8 ThinQ also features a front-facing TOF sensor, called a Z Camera. The phone is also capable of Hand ID, a new form of biometrics in which the hemoglobin in the user's hand is read and recorded as a way to authenciate them and unlock the phone. However, in an era of 12GB flagships and half-terabyte internal capacities, LG has decided to stick with 6GB of RAM and 128GB in this Snapdragon 855-powered device.
This complete package will start at a full price of US$819.99 in April, although certain promotions may take up to $150 off this price. They may also apply to specific carriers only, however. On that note, existing or prospective Sprint customers only have to wait until tomorrow (March 29, 2018) to pre-order the G8 ThinQ. This network is offering deals such as an offer of $15 per month with Sprint's Flex lease, or access to the carrier's Unlimited streaming service (including Hulu) for just $20 per month per line for up to 5 lines if the customer is switching networks.
