Ahead of MWC 2019, LG has announced three new budget smartphones in the Q and K-series. The LG Q60 offers a triple-camera setup and higher onboard storage while the LG K50 and K40 are oriented at more price-conscious users. All phones sport an unnamed 2.0 GHz octa-core SoC and LG's FullVision display HD+ panels along with support for DTS:X audio and AI Cam.

We've been expecting LG to reveal the budget K40 smartphone ahead of MWC 2019, but the South Korean giant has now announced a total of three new phones — the Q60, K50, and the K40 — to cater to those who need good features at reasonable price points. All three devices feature an unnamed 2.0 GHz octa-core SoC and LG's HD+ FullVision displays.

The Q60 is the top offering of the bunch and it features a 6.26-inch HD+ 19:9 FullVision display with a water drop notch for the front-facing camera. The Q60 also features three rear shooters including a 16 MP primary sensor with PDAF, a 5 MP Super Wide Angle lens, and a 2 MP Depth Sensor. There is 3 GB RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage with microSD expansion up to 2 TB. A 3,500 mAh battery keeps the phone ticking for all-day usage.

Next in line is the K50 that sports mostly identical specs to the Q50 including the presence of a water drop notch in the 19.5:9 6.25-inch FullVision display for the selfie shooter. The K50 differs from the Q50 with respect to the onboard storage (32 GB) and the rear cameras. Unlike the Q60's triple camera setup, the K50 uses a more conventional 13 MP+ 2 MP dual camera setup. The K50 is endowed with a 3,500 mAh cell just like the Q60.

Finally, we have the budget K40 with a 5.7-inch 18:9 FullVision display, 2 GB RAM, and 32 GB of onboard storage. From what we've known so far, the K40 could also be marketed for business customers as it finds a mention in Google's Android Enterprise Recommended list. The phone offers a no-frills spec sheet that includes a single 16 MP primary camera and an 8 MP selfie camera along with a 3,000 mAH battery.

All the above models come with support for DTS:X 3D surround, LG's AI Cam for scene detection, a fingerprint sensor, and a dedicated Google Assistant button. These phones are also MIL-STD 810G compliant for durability.

The table below provides a specs overview for the three models announced today.
