Targus, a name in the travel and laptop-carrying accessory space, has developed the Mobile ViP+ Backpack. It integrates Qi wireless charging, so that a phone such as the Samsung Galaxy S10+ can have a dedicated pocket within the new bag that secures and charges it at the same time. This new backpack also has RFID shielding and airport-cart compatibility.

By now, there is a range of bags out there with inbuilt chargers for the e-savvy traveller's phone, tablet or laptop. However, rather less of them make this charging wireless, relying on cables instead. Targus has addressed this possible gap in the market with its new Mobile ViP+ Backpack.

This product features a specially-designed holster found in the interior of the backpack's main compartment's zip-flap. It integrates a powerpack rated up to 5000mAh, with a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. Targus claims that a phone such as the Samsung Galaxy S10+, Huawei P30 or iPhone XS Max will stay secured in this holster and keep charging even if the Mobile ViP+ was to be dropped or thrown around.

This new type of backpack also caters to other modern-day concerns with an RFID-blocking compartment.  It is also fitted with a trolley strap and a collapsible water-bottle holder. Targus has also just featured this product at the 2019 Travel Goods Show (taking place from March 26-28 in Las Vegas). The Mobile ViP+ Backpack is also available now from outlets such as targus.com, and has a recommended retail price of US$199.99.
