The LumiCharge was received well among tech reviewers and bloggers, as it was a product that purported to solve the problems of desk or bedside lighting with the need to charge a phone and keep an eye on the time simultaneously. The result was a 'stick-style' lamp which contained a little station storing various power connectors on a little revolving carousel. This could be spun around to reveal either the Lightning, USB type C or micro USB required by the phone in question.
The LumiCharge also had a little LED display to act as a clock. The lamp itself was also facilitated by these components, with different lighting stages for various preferences. They could also be activated via built-in motion sensors. However, the device did lack wireless charging, an increasingly popular ooption in 2019.
The company behind this product (also named LumiCharge) has addressed this deficiency in its 2nd generation of desk lamps. The LumiCharge II's design has been amended slightly so as to accomodate a Qi-compatible inductive charging pad, but otherwise looks and functions much like the original product.
Like its predecessor, it is available as a reward choice on an Indiegogo campaign to fund its release. So far, it has collected US$3,469, or 34% of its flexible goal, with 44 days to go.
