An austere Chromebook with great battery life The HP Chromebook 14 G5 runs silently and has excellent battery life. The device has Google Play Store integration too, but how does it shape up against other Chromebooks? Read on to find out in this short review.

Simple name, enthusiast performer. The Model Z integrates almost everything you'd want from a thin gaming laptop including the latest Intel 9th gen CPU, GeFoce RTX GPU, 144 Hz narrow bezel display, easy serviceability, and even a per-key RGB mechanical keyboard all for under $2000 USD. Just don't expect long battery life or very quiet fans.

AI and triple-camera setup. Wiko is trying to significantly lower the price limit for smartphones with a triple-camera setup. At the same time, it is relying on many AI functions, a large amount of storage and an attractive design. In our review we will reveal what else the Wiko View 3 Pro offers for around 300 Euros (~$338).

Are the i9 and Vega 20 good upgrades? Besides the regular Radeon Pro chips, Apple also offers its MacBook Pro 15 with the professional AMD Pro Vega graphics adapters. We review the top model with the Intel Core i9 and the Radeon Vega 20 Pro.

A co-production from AMD and Nvidia. The hardware spec, comprised of a Ryzen 5 3550H APU and GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, is able to fluidly play all modern and current games on its 17.3-inch, full HD IPS display. The laptop has comparatively low energy consumption and only gets moderately warm. In its favour are also an NVMe SSD, an additional HDD and very good battery life. Not so good is the somewhat miserly connectivity included.

Elegant subnotebook. The most powerful configuration of the MateBook 13 cut a fine figure in our review. Those who do not need a dedicated graphics card can get the Huawei subnotebook for a bit cheaper. In this review, we shall reveal what users can expect from the lower-priced version that does not have a dedicated GPU.

Rejuvenation - It has been over two years since Samsung last upgraded its 10-inch entry-level Galaxy Tab A tablet. An update was necessary, especially regarding software. Successful work horse. The ThinkPad E490 scores with a quiet or silent operation, very good input devices, simple maintenance options, and a long battery life. In addition, the device stands out with a good price-performance ratio. The test unit that was made available to us can be purchased for slightly more than 700 Euros (~$780; currently $678 in the US for a similar model).

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. The Zephyrus G GA502DU wants to redefine what a budget gaming laptop should be. Its rare pairing of an AMD H-series CPU with an Nvidia GeForce Max-Q GPU is something we wish could have happened years ago. It offers a superbly balanced gaming experience at 1080p30 or 1080p60 in a chassis the size of a flashy flagship all at an affordable price.

No mama's boy. Big display with a waterdrop notch, sleek design, efficient processor, and a light-sensitive camera are the Honor 8A's pros according to the manufacturer. Considering the device's low price this sounds almost too good to be true, or does it?

The Apple AirPods brought wireless earbuds into the mainstream, and many other OEMs have been looking to profit off the back of that success. We take a look at the Huawei FreeBuds Lite and Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro to see how they shape up.

Small and light with an MX250. Acer promises buyers of the Swift 3 an elegant design and high mobility. With its attractive aluminum case and small size, the 14-inch notebook is able to already fulfill those promises at first glance. Google's return to the midrange. Google has, until now, released flagship smartphones under its Pixel series. The 3a and 3a XL change this with their midrange pricing. Long-lasting gaming laptop. The hardware in the Dell G5 allows for all modern computer games to run smoothly on the 15.6-inch display (FHD, IPS). The configuration is also appealing: SSD + HDD, 8 GB RAM (dual-channel mode is enabled) and Thunderbolt 3. The outstanding battery life is surprising. However, this price level also requires some compromises.

The new S-Class. The Galaxy Tab S5e looks a lot like the Galaxy Tab S4. However, while the latter is currently Samsung’s flagship tablet, the Tab S5e is significantly cheaper at nearly 400 Euros (~$448). The midrange tablet is about 20% lighter too. Samsung has not skimped on hardware to save on costs though, which could make the Tab S5e a better choice for some people than its more expensive sibling.

Cheap starter laptop. It's uninteresting, uninspiring, and unimaginative. To users looking for a budget no-frills laptop, however, this probably sounds perfect. The Inspiron 15 5584 comes standard with a Whiskey Lake-U CPU, 1080p IPS display and a PCIe SSD for only about $500 USD to make it a real performance bargain.

The twin. You'd almost have to look with a magnifying glass to find the differences between the Huawei P Smart 2019 and the P Smart Plus 2019. Find out in our test whether the Plus model is worth the small additional price.

Camera review with surprises! Photography is a particularly important aspect of the Chinese manufacturer's P-series. But just how big are the differences in camera performance between the P30 models? Can the budget P30 Lite surprise us compared to the high-end P30 and P30 Pro smartphones? To get straight to the point, it can! At least in one camera discipline.

Half-baked With the ThinkPad E590, Lenovo delivers a quiet workstation with very good keyboard and trackpad plus TrackPoint. The dedicated Radeon RX 550X GPU is only able to realise its potential for short periods of time, as the laptop's cooling system is not up to the task for longer sessions of use. This means that gaming is not really an option.

A large, budget smartphone TP-Link has expanded its budget C series with the Neffos C9, a device with a 5.99-inch display and a MediaTek SoC. Do not expect miracle performance or camera capabilities for the C9 though, as it is geared towards those who want a large and no-frills smartphone. Slimmer is better – or is it? The ThinkPad T490 is a radical redesign of the central ThinkPad series, the T series. Lenovo emphasizes a much improved mobility with a more compact, thinner, and lighter case. This begs the question whether Lenovo had to make any compromises in order to make these improvements. This time around, at least Lenovo does not skimp on the screen.

Mid-range photography masterpiece? The best-selling smartphone as of Q3/2018 gets yet another reincarnation. Huawei dubs the P30 Lite a photography masterpiece featuring a "revolutionary" triple-camera. Now even more advanced than before. The Blade 15 is barely one year old and Razer is continuing to push it to the limits with new CPU, Wi-Fi, and display options. How much of a performance boost can this new 9th gen Intel and RTX 2080 Max-Q SKU offer over the last 8th gen Intel and RTX 2070 Max-Q SKU?

RyzenBook. Huawei has equipped its MateBook D with an AMD Ryzen CPU, offering an attractive office notebook with a design that is also well-suited for business environments. We evaluate in our review what buyers of the MateBook D with the Ryzen APU can expect.

Too soon to celebrate? There has been a 10-nm CPU on the market since late 2018. Intel has put a Cannon Lake-based chip in the Intel NUC8i3CYSM, but has it jumped the gun by doing so? The integrated graphics unit is disabled for the time being and the 10-nm chip does not offer any real performance improvements over the 14-nm models. Moreover, it has lower clock speeds and therefore performs worse than similar 14-nm chips.

Slimmer, but does that make it better? It is a bit surprising that the ThinkPad T490s gets a new chassis since the manufacturer has already redesigned the model last year. There are more changes, but not all of them are positive. We have reviewed the new ThinkPad T490s with the Low Power 1080p screen.

Art in leather. On the company's website, Huawei mostly highlights the new Y6's (2019) display, selfie camera, sound quality and camera quality in low light. Huawei also emphasizes performance – we're dealing with an entry-level model here. Is the Huawei Y6 (2019) able to live up to the expectations it has raised?

Core i9-9880H debut. After a poor debut last year with the 8th gen Core i9-8950HK, the 9th gen Core i9-9880H is actually a great buy especially if you value the high number of simultaneous threads available. Gamers will also benefit from the performance increase over a Core i7-8750H albeit just marginally.

Powerful yet slim. Ultrathin gaming laptops are currently on trend with the likes of Gigabyte, MSI and Razer leading the way. ASUS has now updated its GX502 series accordingly, but can its thin chassis handle a Core i7-9750H and a GeForce RTX 2070? Read on to find out.

Compact powerhouse. Gigabyte's slim gaming notebook Aero 15 Classic-XA can display current games smoothly on its matte 15.6-inch screen (240 Hz, FHD, IGZO) thanks to its Core i7-9750H processor and GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU. Its other components look promising as well: an NVMe SSD, 16 GB of RAM in dual-channel mode and Thunderbolt 3.

Something cheap for the great outdoors. The RugGear RG650 is a 200-Euro (~$223) smartphone that possesses all the features that will enable it to survive in the wild. No bricks here. While most outdoor smartphones resemble a brick, RugGear has given the RG850 a more understated design that makes it look more like a traditional smartphone. The fastest RTX 2070? The GeForce RTX 2070 undoubtedly offers a lot of power. Zotac was not content with the performance that the Founders Edition delivers though, and has decided to overclock it. The result is the RTX 2070 AMP Extreme, which looks and operates differently to how NVIDIA originally intended. Outdated GPU. You know something's wrong when even an integrated Vega 8 can outperform your dedicated Radeon GPU. The Inspiron 17 3780 may sport the newest Intel Whiskey Lake-U CPU, but the decision to pair it with an outdated Radeon 520 is a head scratcher.

Midrange through and through. While OEMs currently reserve Nvidia RTX 20-series GPUs for their more expensive gaming laptops, Acer has chosen to equip its attractively priced Nitro series with GeForce GTX 1600-series chips. Compact with appeal. The Galaxy A40 is an affordable mid-range smartphone that can be easily operated even with smaller hands. Thanks to numerous updates, it is very competitive in terms of price and performance. Find out more in our test. Update: Changed SoC label.

Reasonably priced Turing offering! The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is a Turing-based mid-range GPU. However, the GTX 1660 Ti does not feature the much-sought-after features of the RTX series such as DLSS and Raytracing. Nevertheless, the GTX 1660 Ti is still a good choice, if you do not wish to burn a huge hole in your pocket. You can learn how well Zotac’s GPU performs by reading our review.

Powerful but without the battery life to match. Dell has redesigned its largest Precision workstations, of which the Precision 7730 is one. The new 17.3-inch workstation has a more compact design than its predecessor, although you may be hard-pressed to tell the two apart. The Precision 7730 certainly has plenty of power, but can its 92 Wh go the distance?

Triple camera from Leica. Huawei has set the bar for smartphones which seek to position themselves in the upper segment a little bit higher. The Leica triple camera and octa-core SoC sound good on paper, and the rest of the specification also seems to have a lot to offer. 3:2 Ultrabook. The MateBook 14 is faster than the 2018 MateBook X Pro while offering an uncommon 3:2 display in contrast to the ubiquitous 16:9 form factor. Though powerful for the size, CPU Turbo Boost could be better and the lack of Thunderbolt 3 is glaring considering the >$1000 asking price.

Balancing act. While the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti sits between other midrange and high-end GPUs, we expect the GeForce GTX 1650 to establish itself as a high-performance multimedia laptop GPU. The ultimate for gamers? The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will settle for nothing less than being the best gaming smartphone. Fancy and demanding. Anno 1800 stresses not only the users’ heads, but also the hardware of the computers. We have benchmarked the real-time, city-building strategy game using several notebook and desktop GPUs.

Way too expensive! VAIO, the former PC division of Sony, is back to disrupt the market, or at least attempt to do so. One of its comeback devices is the VAIO A12, a 12.5-inch convertible that may have a tough time justifying its lofty price. The end of the X200. In the times of thinner bezels around bigger screens, even the business sector can not stand still. That is why Lenovo increases the size of its smallest ThinkPad from 12.5 to 13.3-inch. Is the new Lenovo ThinkPad X390 a worthy successor of the classical ThinkPad X200 series?

It keeps getting better. The 13.9-inch ZenBook S13 UX392 is the closest thing you can get to a Dell XPS 14 with even faster graphics performance than what the XPS 13 currently has to offer. Aside from a couple of head-scratching omissions, there's very little to dislike about Asus' latest flagship Ultrabook.

Ryzen in a business suit. HP's ProBook 445 G6 offers a powerful AMD APU, decent input devices, and a fast NVMe SSD. Unfortunately the display Hewlett Packard selected was very dim.

Thin is in. "Make it thin and light." This is probably what the engineers at MSI heard when being given the task of creating the MSI GF75 8RD. And the result is: thin and light. But how does the flyweight gamer fare under full load? After all, the MSI GF75 is not made for office work. It is directed at the gaming community. Can the thin MSI keep up with the high demands of gaming or might this design have taken its toll on the laptop's abilities?

The comeback. Vaio is back! After a few years in which the former Sony PC business operated almost solely on the Japanese market, the well known PC brand returns to Western markets. The new Vaio SX14 tries to impress business & office-users with its lightweight, almost bezel-less design and its great port selection. | Update, 30.04.2019

Tablet recycling? Chinese devices tend to be cheaper than their more established competitors and are generally catching up on quality too. The Chuwi Hi10 Air is certainly cheap but is basically the same device as the Hi10 Pro, which is almost three years old. Nevertheless, a €200 (~US$223) convertible could still be a bargain and is worth a look regardless, even if some of its components are now a few years old. Mid-range phone at a discount. Redmi = affordable. Offering a good price-to-performance ratio has been Xiaomi's formula of success in the past. A simple work device - The name Schenker is not only synonymous with high-performance gaming laptops, but also office laptops as with the Work 15, which the German manufacturer equips with a powerful hexacore CPU. Progress meets regression. The Aorus 15-W9 is able to bring all the current computer games smoothly to the matte 15.6-inch display (144 Hz, FHD, IPS). The components are also suitable: an NVMe SSD, HDD, and 16 GB of working memory. But it is not free of weaknesses: the battery life is meager and there is no Thunderbolt 3.

Now with Whiskey Lake. The design remains unchanged, but inside there is a lot going on. HP has upgraded the Pavilion 15 series to Intel Whiskey Lake chips and Nvidia’s new generation of GeForce MX GPUs. AMD gaming power with stamina. The ASUS TUF Gaming FX705DY is an all red affair with its AMD APU and GPU. The device handles all modern games smoothly on its matte 17.3-inch screen display, which load quickly thanks to its NVMe SSD. The FX705DY even has good battery life. Almost as light as the XPS 13. The Gram 17 bucks the trend that 17-inch laptops have to be large and unwieldy. At just 1.34 kg, the laptop is noticeably lighter than most 14-inch and 15-inch Ultrabooks while offering many of the same features including Thunderbolt 3 and a long battery life.

Connect five. HMD Global went the extra mile with its brand-new Nokia 9 PureView flagship and equipped it with a total of five lenses for the main camera in order to achieve superior image quality. Gamer-turned-workstation. The WT75 takes the best aspects of the GT75 and turns it into a formidable mobile workstation. If you're not overly concerned about weight, thickness, or battery life, then you'll find a lot to like about MSI's largest workstation laptop yet.

Triple photo fun? Triple rear-facing cameras and a bright AMOLED screen on a midrange smartphone? That may sound like an intoxicating mix, but can the Samsung Galaxy A50 match expectations? Read on in this detailed review to find out.

The MX250 provides no advantage. Acer's 15.6-inch multimedia all-rounder scores points with a slim and compact body, as well as a good configuration: Core i7 processor, IPS display, NVMe SSD, HDD, dual-channel RAM. The highlight is the new GeForce MX250 GPU. Despite it having a price of around 1,100 Euros (~$1,236), the laptop does not come without its weaknesses.

Pocket cinema. Sony is trying to break new ground in the smartphone market with new Xperia devices. The Xperia 10 is the company’s latest attempt to crack the midrange sector, and it has equipped the smartphone with a Snapdragon 630 SoC and a 6-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The latter allows the device to keep its footprint to a minimum and still have a large display. Screen sin An affordable office laptop that packs the latest Intel Whiskey Lake CPU, 8 GB of RAM along with a large NVMe SSD? That would sound like a bargain if it were not for a big caveat that might be a deal breaker for many potential buyers.

Sony's next move. With its current smartphone designs, this manufacturer from the far east has finally managed to take into account what customers actually want, without having to abandon its own individuality. Alienware 17 lite. 23 percent thinner, 37 percent smaller, and 40 percent lighter. The Alienware m17 addresses all the size and weight complaints of the original Alienware 17 series albeit at the cost of some auxiliary features like the backlit trackpad, per-key RGB lighting, additional ports.

Reheated fare. This year, Apple has revived a product label that was already thought dead and has fit some new hardware into an old case. The newly created tablet positions itself between the entry-level iPad and the Pro models and faces the high-end competition from Android in terms of its price. Our test will show whether this is a recipe for success.

Mid-ranger with high aspirations The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has been on the Indian market for some time, with ASUS bringing the model to wider markets post Mobile World Congress 2019. The focus of the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) is its large 5,000 mAh battery, its improved design and its more powerful hardware, which all suggest to us that Asus has made good on the criticism about the device’s predecessors. Read on to find out whether Asus has done enough to make the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) stand out from other midrange devices in what is already a highly competitive market.

Go Pro. The Cubot J3 Pro is another entry-level smartphone by the Chinese manufacturer. Can the “Pro” model succeed where its smaller sibling fell short? Read on to find out what the added Pro moniker brings and whether the J3 Pro can better challenge its budget competitors than the J3 could.

An entry-level Sony. The Xperia L3 carries over some of the characteristics of its predecessors while also coming into its own with its more modern design. For about 200 Euros (~$225), buyers of the slim smartphone in the 2:1 format also receive a dual-camera system as well as the option to use a microSD and two SIM cards simultaneously. Pricey, but fast! Both the GeForce RTX 2080 and the GeForce RTX 2070 have the same amount of VRAM. However, the RTX 2080 offers somewhat more performance than the RTX 2070. Big, good and affordable. The Y7 2019 retails for only 199 Euros (~US$224), but Huawei has still managed to cram in a 6.26-inch display, dual rear-facing cameras and a 4,000-mAh battery among its other impressive features. One-handed go. The Cubot J3 is a tiny smartphone by modern standards and can easily be used with one hand. However, this is where things start to fall down, as we shall explain in this review. It's complicated. Dell competes in the business laptop market with AMD CPUs with a rather small lineup. Will the single Dell Latitude model with Ryzen, the Dell Latitude 14 5495, be able to compete with well-known competitors like the Lenovo ThinkPad A485 and the HP EliteBook 745 G5? In some ways it can compete, but our review also uncovered some weaknesses.

Outmanoeuvred. ASUS has packed powerful hardware into a sleek and compact case, which is impressive on the face of it. Unfortunately, this feat cannot be done without compromising somewhere, which we tackle in this review. The UX433FN shares many of its features with its siblings that we have already reviewed like its IPS screen, NVMe SSD, dual-channel RAM and backlit keyboard. Sadly, ASUS equips this model with a reflective display too.

Good display, but far too slow. The 11.6-inch Ematic offers a lot on paper, but it doesn't have the speed to keep up with even the most simplest of tasks like browsing, 1080p streaming, or even word processing. You're better off investing that $200 elsewhere.

Held back on purpose? In addition to the A series, Lenovo is also offering its more affordable E series with AMD processors. We tested how the ThinkPad fares against the Intel competition and also evaluated whether a configuration with dual-channel RAM brings any advantages. Unremarkable. The VivoBook Flip 14 comes with a Core i3 processor, dual-channel-enabled RAM and an SSD. The IPS touchscreen can be used not only with the fingers but also with the Asus Pen, which is sold separately.

A grand for a gram. The Gram 14 is a few hundred grams lighter than the XPS 13 while having a larger 14-inch display. In fact, it's one of the lightest Ultrabooks in its size class with an Intel Core U-series CPU. So, what's the catch?

Dwarf galaxy - Samsung has priced the smaller version of the top-tier S10 models more attractively than the S10+. In addition to its smaller display comes a lower capacity battery, a single front-facing camera along with less internal storage. Likewise, there is no option for a ceramic back as there is with the S10+.
