Low Quality. Dell's standard Chromebook 11 leaves quite a bit to be desired. A low quality display and cheap construction drag down the device. Additionally, the limits of Chrome OS and bugs with Android app compatibility leave a bad taste.

AMD-only. After some mixed reviews of their first version HP has now released a new HP 17 with all-out AMD components and an IPS panel. It does certainly offer some improvements, but does not come without any backlash.

Almost free. In a world of smartphones and tablets we may often wonder whether we actually still need a notebook. Lenovo's answer to that question is the IdeaPad 320. It is available for an impressively low $300 and is supposed to support web-browsing and office applications.

Affordable narrow bezels. The GF63 is nearly the same size and weight as the GS65 but for hundreds of dollars less. MSI has created an excellent budget gaming system that's also light enough for schoolwork and travel.

Back to school. The Dell Inspiron Chromebook 11 2-in-1 (also known as the Chromebook 11 3181 2-in-1) is a sturdy, well-built Chromebook targeted squarely at the education sector. While the design leaves much to be desired, it is a competent low-end machine and should be rugged enough to withstand the abuse of a classroom.
