Microsoft has let it be known that checking for updates on Windows 10 PCs that run the stable-channel 1903 version may result in the ability to download its successor, 1909. This November 2019 replacement for that build can also now be accessed by business users and server maintainers.

Microsoft has let it be known that checking for updates on Windows 10 PCs may yield the ability to download this OS' latest version, 1909 (KB4524570, or the November 2019 update). On the other hand, its changelog does not differ greatly from that of the latest patch for its predecessor (1903, or the May 2019 update). However, the new incremental upgrade's roll-out may be underway now as an earlier build from this year (Windows 10 version 1803, or the April 2019 update, has reached the end of its service. This applies to the Home and Pro editions of the OS.

Accordingly, 1909 mainly exists to deliver various security updates for multiple aspects of the Windows 10 ecosystem, from the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Virtualization, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Fundamentals, Edge, Windows Cryptography, the Windows App Platform, Linux for Windows, Windows Datacenter Networking, and the OS' kernel. However, it does also contain a new update for Microsoft HoloLens that is not found in the next newest update.

Commercial users can also now distribute the Windows 10 November 2019 Update amongst their respective fleets of machines. This can be done through the channel that applies to their organization, such as the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), Windows Update for Business or the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
