Lenovo's office notebook offers a strong Ryzen 5 APU, moderate emissions and good battery runtimes. Another positive aspect: USB-C power delivery is supported.

The release notes for the latest AMD Adrenalin 23.2.1 drivers do not specifically mention ray tracing improvements for the RX 6000-series, but some Twitter users are reporting uplifts of almost 40% in 3DMark. These gains unfortunately do not seem to apply to any game that supports RT, with the exception of Doom Eternal.

The measly 8 GB of RAM is thankfully easily upgradeable. The OLED panel handily beats any laptop display in this price range in terms of color and accuracy.

ASUS has previewed new versions of the Vivobook 14 OLED, Vivobook 15 OLED and Vivobook 16 under the Vivobook Classic series. The Raptor Lake Intel Core i9-13980HX and i9-13900HX processors have knocked the crowd of Apple M2 chips off their PassMark perch in terms of single-thread CPU performance. The Dragon Range AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX has yet to make an appearance on this benchmark, but the i9-13980HX’s Turbo Power of 157 W gives it a muscular advantage.

The new AMD Mendocino models from HP start at US$329.00 and feature 17, 15 and 14-inch form-factors, plus up to a Ryzen 5 7520U processor with Radeon 610M iGPU. RAM is limited to 8 GB LPDDR5, but the NVMe storage can be expanded up to 1 TB.

Paul from RedGamingTech has revealed updated information regarding 2024’s AMD Zen 5 CPU architecture. According to the leaker, Zen 5 could have a double-digit IPC uplift, significantly bigger L1 cache, and 8 cores per CCX. Most of these specs seem to confirm what Paul has mentioned previously.

RedGamingTech has revealed hardware specifications and performance estimates of the upcoming mid-range RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT, and RX7600/XT. The purported specifications of the RX 7800 XT and the RX 7600/XT appear to have been scaled down as compared to the leaker's estimations from last year.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D will be purchasable on February 28 for US$699 and US$599, respectively. On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will not hit shelves until April 6 and will cost US$449.

After having introduced the new Alienware x16 powered by Intel Raptor Lake-H at CES 2023, Dell is now offering what it calls the "world's most premium gaming laptop" with a choice of several AMD Ryzen 7000HS CPUs all the way up to the Ryzen 9 7940HS. The Alienware x16 can be configured with up to a 175 W Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU and is largely similar to its Intel counterpart save for differences in the WLAN card and port selection.

Dell has confirmed the GeForce RTX 4080-powered Alienware m18 will be purchasable on February 9 for US$2,599. Entry-level models will start at US$1,899 and will be available shortly after. Variants running AMD hardware will only launch in Q2, 2023.

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED with 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory, 512 GB of NVMe storage, and a Ryzen 7 5825U is currently retailing for US$283 off on Amazon. Aside from the lack of user-upgradable memory, the notebook checks almost all the boxes, making it a worthy machine for office/productivity tasks.

A new GPU AIB maker backed by Acer's expertise could prove beneficial for the market as a whole. However, rumor has it that the Predator cards will not feature any Nvidia GPUs any time soon, focusing only on intel and AMD models at first.

Serial hardware leaker Tom of Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID) has published a video claiming that although the RTX 4090 continues to sell well, the sales are losing momentum. The leaker also alleges that the RX 7900 XTX cards are moving quickly. However, the real MVPs are last-gen RTX 30 and RX 6000 boards which are priced equal to or less than MSRP.

Lenovo has announced a refresh of the Yoga 13w Gen 2, a 13.3-inch convertible laptop that will be soon available with AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs. The Yoga 13w Gen 2 also has a 51 Wh battery, plenty of ports and a 16:10 aspect ratio, among other features.

Dell has discounted the high-end Alienware m17 R5 gaming laptop by 34%. One can buy it for as low as US$1,676.65 thanks to a discount and two stackable coupons.

AMD is expected to reveal midrange RDNA 3 cards, possibly the RX 7600/XT, with the Navi 33 GPU sometime in the coming months. Now, the latest rumor claims that the chip will only present measurable yet ultimately unexciting performance gains over the RDNA 2 boards.
