AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT mid-range gaming GPU with 16 GB VRAM could launch in January 2024
Both AMD and Nvidia provided some disappointing lower mid-range gaming GPU solutions this year with the Radeon RX 7600 and RTX 4060 Ti models, respectively. Team Green even dared to slap 16 GB VRAM on the RTX 4060 Ti without any other modifications besides asking US$499 for it, which is US$100 more compared to the 8 GB version. At least AMD is pricing the RX 7600 close to what it is worth at US$250, but its value in the grand scheme is nowhere near what the RX 7900 cards are offering. Things may soon change in this sector, as Chinese publication Benchlife claims that AMD could launch an RX 7600 XT card with 16 GB VRAM in January 2024.
No other specs have been provided except for double the VRAM from the existing RX 7600 model. WCCFtech argues that the new card may not be powered by the same Navi 33 chip from the non-XT version since that one already offers the maximum specs for the SKU. Then again, if Nvidia can do this with the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, why would AMD do otherwise? The hope is for AMD to include a cut-down Navi 32 chip that would better utilize the 16 GB of VRAM. This may also better justify a price bump to US$350.
Previous ECC listings from Powercolor revealed RX 7600 XT models with 10 GB and 12 GB VRAM, so we might see versions that cost at most US$300. Given the speculated January release, the RX 7600 XT could be announced at CES.
