ASUS has announced a new series of updates for the ROG Ally. Not only has the company confirmed plans to push a BIOS update to the gaming handheld, but it has finalised Armoury Crate SE and MCU improvements that it will roll out separately.

The Ryzen 7 7840S limited to 30 W TDP is only 5% slower than a Ryzen 9 7940HS that can boost to 54 W. This variant is exclusive to Lenovo, and the Yoga Air 14s ultrabooks with 1 TB storage and 32 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM are available for ~US$1,140 only in China for now.

The fastest components are not always the best, as proven by the EliteBook 845 G10. With the smaller Zen4 Ryzen 7 7840U processor, the business notebook is even better because the fan almost always remains inactive in everyday use.

According to the latest AMD Zen 5 leak by Paul of RedGamingTech, the Ryzen 8000 processors could bring an enormous single-thread IPC uplift. A group called Pitstoptech has revealed a working prototype of a gaming handheld derived from a Framework Mainboard. Purportedly, Pitstoptech hopes to eventually sell DIY kits allowing people to build their own device that has a comparatively large battery, a 7-inch display and detachable controllers.
