AMD shares clock speeds of Zen4c cores inside Ryzen 8000G APUs

The AMD Ryzen 8000G lineup will be available to purchase starting from January 31, which is just a week away. With this series, AMD is finally moving from Zen3 to Zen4-based APUs. The lineup has also introduced the brand-new AM5 socket for the APUs, bringing support for DDR5 memory.

Two of the APUs in the AMD Ryzen 8000G lineup will pack two types of core clusters. One is the larger Zen4 cluster, while the other is the smaller Zen4c. The smaller cores have a lower cache amount and aren’t designed for high frequencies like the bigger Zen4 cores.

Speaking of frequencies, during the unveiling, AMD didn’t disclose the core clock information of the smaller Zen4c cores inside the Ryzen 8000G processors. However, the company eventually fulfilled its promise by updating the official specification web pages of the two APUs.

As the official specs page now shares, the Zen4c cores inside the Ryzen 5 8500G have a base clock of 3.2 GHz and can reach up to 3.7 GHz. For the Ryzen 3 8300G, the base clock of the smaller cores is 3.2 GHz, with the max frequency reaching 3.6 GHz. The other processors on the lineup, which are the Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 7 8700G, only have Zen4 cores.

It should be noted that the Ryzen 3 8300G won’t be available to the DIY crowd at launch. So, if you’re looking to build a rig with a Ryzen 8000G APU, the most affordable option during launch is the Ryzen 5 8500G.

AMD hasn’t even disclosed the pricing details of the Ryzen 3 chipset. As for the others, the Ryzen 5 8500G will be available at $179, the Ryzen 5 8600G at $229, and the Ryzen 8700G at $329.
