Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series to be powered with new Exynos 5535 and Exynos S5E5535 chipset
Roland Quandt has provided initial insights into the Galaxy Watch7 series, likely over six months before its release. For reference, Samsung tends to refresh Galaxy Watch smartwatches every summer, with the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 series arriving alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 at the end of July 2023. By contrast, all Galaxy Watch5 models debuted less than a year before, making a late July or early August 2024 release likely for the Galaxy Watch7 series.
According to Quandt, Samsung is developing Galaxy Watch7 smartwatches with 'Exynos 5535'. Rather than a new direction for Samsung's wearable chipsets, Quandt insists that Exynos 5535 is actually an internal model number. Incidentally, ReaMEIZU may have actually spotted the same chipset passing through the General Administration of Customs (GAC) in China in October 2023.
As the screenshot below shows, Samsung certified 'S5E5535' with the GAC. While nothing noteworthy itself, the model number that appears is related to the S5E5515, Samsung's codename for the Exynos W930 that powers the Galaxy Watch6 series. Reportedly, Exynos 5535 and S5E5535 will switch to a new manufacturing process, which could yield up to 30% performance improvements and a 50% power reduction compared to the Exynos W930.
