The former is now said to have gained some ground back in this respect in 2023, having secured a contract to make an increased volume of "15 Pro" and "15 Pro Max" panels. Then again, Samsung may still be content with their additional vanilla "15" and "15 Plus" orders.

According to a new report, making the Galaxy S23 Ultra cost Samsung ~39% of its current official retail value per unit. About 35% of this production cost went on the super-premium Android smartphone's class-leading new processor, with another ~14% going on its headlining rear cameras. The total bill is still less than that of an iPhone 14 Pro Max, at least.

The platform might give the first-gen slate an edge over its potential rivals from OnePlus or even iQOO's own parent company Vivo. Physical keyboards could soon return to be a part of OLED displays - sort of. Designers from Carnegie Mellon University claim to have proven that the panels are compatible with fluid-filled bumps that can act as a keyboard. They are deployed via an innovative pumping mechanism that can cause them to inflate at need.
