Hot iron. Wait a minute, another m15? Yes, after the m15 R5 with a Ryzen processor now comes the m15 R6 with an Intel CPU, which brings the usual advantages and disadvantages (keyword Thunderbolt). Of course, the new Tiger Lake processor is more efficient and also faster than the Comet Lake predecessor in the R4, but Dell applies the emergency brakes in the 3D performance, and the R4 also still has something to say here.

Powerful X1 in its fourth generation. In a year of numerous ThinkPad redesigns, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 is one of the most significant - after all, it's the very first 16-inch ThinkPad laptop. We are also pleased with the other features of this premium multimedia laptop, although battery life is disappointing.

BIOS updates stabilize the performance. In our first tests, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon G9 still struggled with performance issues. After several BIOS updates, the performance is now stable, but also lower. The optional ePrivacy screen also remains problematic.

The most compelling GPD product thus far. The 8-inch Pocket 3 squeezes in many of the same features found on full-size laptops including an 11th gen Core i7 CPU, Wi-Fi 6E, PCIe4 NVMe SSD, Thunderbolt 4, and support for Windows 11 and even RS-232. We found only a couple of glaring caveats that we hope future revisions can address.

MagSafe, M1 Pro, Mini-LED with 120 Hz and a notch... Apple launched the new MacBook Pro 14 with its own M1 CPUs as well as the new Mini-LED display with 120 Hz. After some rather unsuccessful experiments like the touch bar and the butterfly keyboard, Apple reintroduces other features like the SD-card reader and MagSafe.

Uncommon Tiger Lake H35 CPU. The IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is one of the few Ultrabook-size laptops with a Core H-series CPU instead of the usual Core-U series for more processing horsepower. However, it's the 90 Hz 1800p display that has us more impressed than the Core i7-11370H processor itself.

...drowns out the Dynabook. The extremely quiet laptop shows how much performance can be found in an 11th generation Intel i5 processor when it is installed accordingly. The laptop can score with its high battery life for a mid-range B2B device. Unfortunately, it falls short of expectations in other areas.

Bad price-performance ratio. The Dell XPS 15 continues to be one of the few high-end multimedia laptops that is optionally also offered without a dedicated graphics card. So while those who are looking only for a fast processor should really be at the right place here, Dell also limits the CPU performance unnecessarily.

On the desk it becomes colorful. Apple now also uses its own M1 processor for the iMac. The new model with a 23.5-inch 4.5K Retina display replaces the previous 21.5-inch model and is available in many different colors. In the test, the desktop computer convinces in many areas, only the loud cooling is a surprise.

Colossus. Lenovo's P-series ThinkPads fall in line with the traditional ThinkPads. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, the display borders around the 16:9 display could have been slightly narrower. However, the Lenovo workstation shines where it matters, offering excellent performance and expandability.

Still up to date? The Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 is a traditional mobile workstation with a large chassis and a focus on performance. To this end, it's equipped with the latest 45-watt CPUs from Intel as well as new professional graphics cards from Nvidia. However, the cooling system in particular doesn't fully deliver.

Warning - free-running RTX 3080! In some gaming laptops, the RTX 3080 has a TGP of 120 W, in others up to 165 W, which leads to strong performance differences of laptops with the same GPU.
