XMG is shifting away from the thin-and-light design of last year’s PRO lineup as the 2022 (E22) 15-inch and 17-inch models now come as a balanced full package solution targeting the performance-focused gamers. For processor options, XMG is offering Intel's Alder Lake-H models including the i9-12900H and the i7-12700H. These can be complemented with two M.2 SSDs connected via PCIe 4.0 as well as up to 64 GB DDR4-3200 via two SO-DIMM slots.
On the graphics side, there is a choice between Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 16 GB VRAM, the 3070 Ti model and the RTX 3060 one (PRO 15 only). Including 15 watt Dynamic Boost 2.0, the GPUs respectively operate with a TGP of up to 135, 125 and 120 watts, which is quite the upgrade over last year’s models. As a result, the dimensions and weight increase to 35.8 x 24 x 2.49 cm and 2.4 kg (PRO 15) and 39.6 x 26.2 x 2.49 cm and 2.8 kg (PRO 17), bringing a redesigned cooling system and a larger 80 Wh battery.
The PRO 15 is available with three 15.6-inch screen options including a 144 Hz fast Full HD IPS panel, a WQHD IPS panel at 165 Hz and a UHD OLED panel. On the other hand, the PRO 17 offers a choice between a 17.3-inch 165 Hz fast WQHD IPS and a UHD IPS panel. Both 4K displays feature factory X-Rite color calibration.
Port selection features a Thunderbolt 4 connector, a DisplayPort-capable USB-C 3.2, HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 1.4, 2x USB-A 3.2, microSD card reader, GbE jack, plus headphone out and mic in jacks. There is also a Wi-Fi 6E card, an FHD webcam and a keyboard with RGB per key illumination.
The base configuration of the XMG PRO 15, which can be freely configured on bestware.com, includes Intel‘s Core i7-12700H, a GeForce RTX 3060, 16 (2x8) GB DDR4-3200, a 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD and a Full HD IPS display with 144 Hz. The starting price including 19% VAT is € 1,979. Meanwhile, the XMG PRO 17 with a 165 Hz WQHD IPS display and RTX 3070 Ti starts at € 2,499.
