Atari's VCS game console is now available for pre-order from Atari, Walmart, and GameStop. The console starts at US $249 and comes in a two models with three different designs (depending on retailer). Walmart and GameStop are expected to ship pre-orders in March 2020.

There’s a possibility that the Dell XPS 15 series will eventually offer consumers a choice of a mobile processor from AMD’s Ryzen 3000 range. Although nothing concrete has been offered in terms of details or plans yet, the likelihood of an XPS 15 laptop taking advantage of Zen+ microarchitecture in the future is growing.

Confirmed specifications and expected MSRPs for the Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G have apparently been leaked. The latest APUs from AMD may not be as spectacular as their Ryzen 3000 desktop CPU AM4-series counterparts, but they come at very attractive price points and are based on AMD’s Zen+ microarchitecture and feature tweaked Vega graphics technology.

A few details about Project Scarlett were revealed at the Xbox E3 2019 briefing, but it seems in the end it was the next episode in a very famous game franchise that did most of the talking for the next-generation console. Asus's flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 6, will be be launching as the Asus 6Z in the Indian market on June 19. The change in naming is due to an interim order by the Delhi High Court that restrains Asus from selling any product using the 'Zen' or 'ZenFone' trademark based on a plea filed by Telecare Network. Asus will be challenging the plea soon and has promised that the sales and support of existing products will not be affected.

Since Sony is not going to present anything at E3 2019, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan went ahead and revealed a few more PlayStation 5 features to hype up the fans until the official announcement scheduled later this summer. The rumored custom SSD is now confirmed to be the default storage option, while the 7 nm AMD hardware will offer support for 4K @120 Hz, and there will also be a "cross-generational play" feature.

An AMD Ryzen 5 3600 was shown to beat the Intel Core i7-8700 in a leaked PUBG benchmark over at the Chiphell forum. The Ryzen 5 3600 was shown to average about 6.3% higher than the 8700 when both of them were paired with DDR4-3000 RAM and a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. The larger cache size on Ryzen could work well for gamers, but further data and testing are needed for an absolute conclusion.

There’s good news for those waiting for the latest version of Dell’s renowned XPS 15 lineup. Company executive Frank Azor has revealed that the new XPS 15 7590 is coming this month. Although it appears this year’s refresh is relatively minor, there are still plenty who would like to enjoy the OLED option on the popular Dell laptop.

An online retailer specializing in consumer electronics has added the five current members of AMD’s Matisse family to its database. The prices listed for the Zen 2 desktop processors aren’t too much higher than what was expected: Bottom Line Telecommunications (BLT) has the entry-level Ryzen 5 3600 with Wraith Stealth cooler for US$207.34.

An unknown system incorporating an Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU has been tested on Geekbench. The device with the brand-new board and just-announced Ryzen 3000 processor managed a surprising score in the single-core test, where it managed to beat out every other Ryzen-based system that has appeared on Geekbench so far.

A couple of photos of an AMD Navi chip and a Ryzen 3000 series processor have been published by a Japanese website. After months of rumors and leaks, the physical products are finally available to see. The Ryzen 9 3900X is easily distinguishable with its chiplet design. The rear sides of the processors show Navi’s smaller ball grid array.

AMD’s CEO, Lisa Su, has managed to allay concerns that development of 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper processors has been abandoned. An AMD Investor Presentation from March had the vaunted HEDT chips included in the 2019 AMD client lineup. However, May’s presentation removed the next-gen Threadripper from the roadmap.

The rumored 16-core Ryzen 9 CPU was tested behind-the-scenes at Computex by a group of overclockers, who managed to push the processor to 4.25 GHz on water cooling. Thus, the 16-core CPU that is rumored to cost around US$800 managed to score slightly higher than Intel's 18-core i9-9980XE priced at US$2,000.

Instead of being announced at Computex, the new ZenBook 14 Flip powered by AMD's Ryzen 5 3500U only made a discrete appearance on Amazon France. Besides the AMD CPU that is integrating a Radeon RX Vega 8 GPU, the refreshed model comes with a thin bezel touchscreen and a smaller battery that makes it lighter than the Intel-powered versions.

AMD is taking on Intel with not just one or two but a total of five high-end desktop CPUs that promise far greater performance than Intel's offerings at lower TDPs and price points. The new Ryzen 3000-series is being fabricated on TSMC's 7nm process and offers a multi-chiplet layout with improved IPC, higher core counts, larger cache sizes, and support for PCIe 4.0. The Ryzen 3000-series will go on sale starting July 7.

A member of the upcoming Matisse family of Ryzen 3000 processors from AMD has been spotted on Geekbench, and the seemingly entry-level sample has delivered scores that will have Intel concerned. The apparent price-performance ratio of the Zen 2 chip appears to be impressively high, if it is actually the SKU that many have speculated it is.

The 12 nm 35 W Ryzen 7 3750H is essentially on par with the 14 nm 45 W Core i5-8300H and even i5-9300H in terms of multi-threaded performance. Now, all that's left is for more OEMs to adopt the Ryzen H-series so more budget-conscious or mainstream gamers can benefit from the generally less expensive AMD parts.

A 16-core Zen 2 AMD Ryzen 3000 processor has apparently been benchmarked on Cinebench R15 and offered up a score that will surprise or amaze many. It’s believed the chip in question has a base clock of 3.2 GHz with a boost available up to 4.3 GHz. The unnamed AMD product is supposed to have attained a score of 4,278 points.

The latest version of AIDA64 - v6.00 - has been released. It adds benchmarks for the Zen2-based Matisse processors. In addition, it now also has a SHA3-512 cryptographic hash benchmark.

AMD has been showing off another fantastic custom desktop PC that utilizes a processor and graphics card from the red team. The build was created by Xidax PCs especially for a Borderlands 3 reveal event. The rig features an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU that is paired with a high-end Radeon VII 16 GB graphics card.

An engineering sample of an upcoming AMD processor has been spotted on UserBenchmark. This particular chip has visited the benchmark before, back in January, but it seems it has received some improvements in the meantime. The sample is believed to be connected to AMD’s “Matisse” Ryzen 3000 series of Zen 2 desktop processors.

A flaw in Intel's modern CPU architectures can be used in a new attack. Dubbed "ZombieLoad," the vulnerability is similar to the Spectre and Meltdown bugs that haunted the PC market last year. ZombieLoad uses a similar flaw in Intel CPUs' speculative execution processes to access and leak data, including passwords, keys, and sensitive data.

Lisa Su will kickoff Computex 2019 in less than two weeks and then tease even more gaming technologies two weeks later at the Next Horizon Gaming conference in E3 2019. Expect a cluster of hopefully exciting AMD announcements in the coming month.

The leaked specs come from reliable source Tum Apisak on Twitter, who managed to intercept a 16-core engineering sample that is usually offered by AMD to motherboard makers for design purposes. With 3.3 GHz default clocks and boost clocks reaching 4.5 GHz, the unnamed chip may turn up to be the Ryzen 9 3800X model leaked in late 2018 by AdoredTV.

A couple of AMD processors have been revealed online: The Athlon 300GE and the Athlon 320GE. Unfortunately, there are almost no details to accompany the supposed names of the chips apart from the alleged base clock rates. The Athlon 300GE will apparently clock at 3.4 GHz while the Athlon 320GE offers a little more at 3.5 GHz.

A PC builder has managed to install four Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards in the tiniest of desktop cases, and then proceeded to amass a huge score of over 3,500 points on OctaneBench while claiming that none of the GPUs exceeded a temperature of 75 °C /167 °F. The customized desktop, which is apparently used for rendering work, also features an AMD CPU.

A new investor presentation from AMD has been published online and there are numerous interesting additions and omissions from the previous presentation. In comes mention of Zen 3, Zen 4, Milan and cloud gaming connected to Navi, and no doubt to the dismay of HEDT processor fans, out goes the 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper CPU.

Happy 50th Anniversary, AMD. The red team is celebrating half a century in business, having been founded on May 1, 1969. There are numerous celebratory products brandishing a flash of gold to enliven proceedings and Newegg is offering all sorts of goodies to those who buy an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X AMD50 Gold Edition – which at one point included entry into a prize draw to win a Matisse processor.

AMD has announced in an earnings conference call that its 7nm Navi GPU series will be launched in the third quarter of 2019. It is expected that there will be some sort of revelation about Navi at this year’s Computex, which starts at the end of May, with a possible full reveal at E3 in the second week of June.

Asus has posted a statement detailing which of its motherboards will be compatible with the upcoming next-generation Ryzen 3000 series of processors from AMD. The list covers models from the 300 and 400 series of products, and Asus has added that further motherboards will be included on the list soon.

A new purported leak about the PlayStation 5 has offered up some more detailed information about the key components. Sony already announced that the next-generation console will feature an AMD APU with a 7nm Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU. But a new leaker claims to have specific clock rates that were apparently obtained from a more recent Sony meeting.

The X570 chipset is compatible with AMD's upcoming Ryzen 3000 series. So far, we have been led to believe that it will support PCIe 4.0 and will, obviously, next-gen performance and speed. A new leak appears to confirm its all-4.0 nature, as well as the number of USB ports an X570 motherboard may have.

Danish desktop enthusiasts have built an incredible workstation based around an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X. The desktop computer was actually undergoing a thorough upgrading session in a venture labeled “Project Threadripper”. The end product looks terrific and features hardware from Corsair, Samsung, Asus, and Cooler Master.

There has been mention of an AMD Ryzen 5 3550U with Vega 9 made online, but no other information has been offered apart from the names for the two potential components. AMD has posted a tweet on its Ryzen Twitter account showing what can be done with just one Ryzen Threadripper 1950X HEDT chip and four Radeon RX Vega 64 LC graphics cards. The builder of the custom desktop PC setup has called his system “RippinRed 2.0”, and it also features 32 GB RAM, a motherboard from Gigabyte, and four monitors from Dell and Acer.

The next pitched battle between Sony and Microsoft in their console wars is starting to heat up. The latest news to surface is courtesy of some Microsoft insiders who say that the next-gen flagship Xbox will be more advanced than the Sony PlayStation 5.

Two images of one of AMD’s upcoming Picasso range of desktop APUs have been leaked online. The pictures themselves don’t reveal very much, apart from the fact that AMD is likely preparing to finally release the desktop APU counterparts of the Picasso mobile APUs that were released earlier this year. The APU in question is believed to be the Ryzen 3 3200G.

The Zen 2-based Ryzen, EPYC and Threadripper chipsets should make for exciting launches soon. This is because their state-of-the-art 7nm architectures should deliver performance improvements in many areas compared to their Zen+ predecessors. However, it appears that the Zen 3s of the future are shaping up to be even better already.

Atari announced this week that the Atari VCS would switch to an AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 APU, officially ditching the Bristol Ridge A10 it had planned to use last year. While the R1000 will bring better performance and support for modern features (like 4K video playback), it brings a heavy negative to the effervescent console - delays.
