Despite all the new reveals presented at Computex this week, Asus somehow decided to keep the updated ZenBook Flip 14 convertible on the low. This new model was spotted on the French side of Amazon with new CPU options and improved displays, yet there is no information about availability for the time being.
Besides Intel’s Whiskey Lake CPUs, the refreshed ZenBook Flip 14 can now be powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 3500U quad-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz by default (3.6 GHz boost), which is coupled with 8 GB DDR4-2400 of RAM (non-upgradeable) and a 256 GB SATA3 SSD. The updated 360-degree display comes with a 14-inch bright touchscreen, thin bezels and 1080p resolution.
Other features include:
• Integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 GPU
• HD IR webcam
• Dual-band Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2
• microSDXC card reader
• Harman Kardon stereo speakers + array mic
• Illuminated Chiclet keyboard
• Ports: USB-A 2.0 + USB-A 3.1 + 2X USB-C 3.1, audio jack, HMDI 1.4 video out
This model will only be available in metallic light grey and will feature a smaller 45 Wh battery, which means it is lighter than the Intel versions, weighing only 3.5 lbs. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint reader, but the webcam is compatible with Windows Hello.
