Huawei has lifted the lid on the MateBook E, a 2-in-1 with a 2.5K OLED display. The device comes in three configurations, has a Thunderbolt 4 port and will be available in two colours.

Huawei has teased a new version of its MateBook E with strong overtones of the device being a Surface 8 Pro competitor on its launch. This may have been further underpinned by the reported release of a new app specifically for its new detachable keyboard dock onto the Chinese version of the Microsoft Store.

Hardware specs are still a mystery, but the teaser image reveals that the new MateBook E features an improved display with narrower bezels and rounded screen corners, plus a fingerprint sensor on the back. A detachable keyboard along with a stylus and a mouse also appear to be included.

With a Ryzen 3 APU, 8 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode, and an NVMe SSD, Acer's 2-in-1 device is equipped for office and Internet operation. The touchscreen can not only be operated with the fingers but also with an active input pen.

The reduced price will be valid only during launch before bouncing back up to around $500 USD. The thin and attractive modern chassis design will be balanced by an older and slower passively-cooled Intel Core m7 CPU.

ASUS has unveiled the Vivobook 13 Slate, or Vivobook 13 Slate OLED (T3300) as the company calls it. The 2-in-1 supports pen input, has a detachable keyboard and decent connectivity. ASUS has included an OLED display too, but the device is powered by an Intel Pentium Silver N6000, along with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC flash storage.

The new Flip CX3400 retains the slick look and fanless design from the CX5400 model, and offers the same selection of Intel Tiger Lake-U processors. On the other hand, it does not feature Thunderbolt ports, comes with a slightly dimmer screen and RAM configurations start from 4 GB.

Evan Blass has leaked the ROG Flow Z13, ASUS' latest take on the Surface Pro form factor. The 2-in-1 has a USB Type-A port, a 13-inch display and what looks like an SD card reader. The compact device seems destined to launch on November 3 at ASUS' 'wow the world' hardware event.

Lenovo has released a new teaser for a laptop it calls the Yoga 16s 2022. The OEM does not say much more about the device, besides to hint that it might be ideal for creators. However, it is apparent from its new trailer that it runs Windows 11 and has a slim and light, thin-bezel design.

According to a leak, Microsoft has settled on a US$799 starting price for the Surface Pro 8. Supposedly, a Chinese retailer has leaked numerous Surface Pro 8 details too, including a 13-inch display, a 120 Hz refresh rate and the presence of Thunderbolt 4 ports.

While these two may be overhauls compared to their predecessors, the Surface Go 3 will not. Expect the same design as the Surface Go 2 and the same family of processors.

With the EliteBook Folio 13.5, HP shows how good a Windows-on-ARM convertible can look. Its performance is suitable for office use, but other things apart from the high price are also irritating.

HP has unveiled the Chromebook x2 11, a new tablet running Chrome OS. The device has a 3:2 and 1,440p display, a Snapdragon 7c SoC and 8 GB of RAM. Supposedly, the Chromebook x2 11 will last up to 11 hours between charges, too.

MSI announced the E16 Flip at CES 2021, but it has upgraded the machine with newer processor and GPU options. While the 120 Hz display remains, the device is now available with up to a Core i7-1195G7 and a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti.

The Asus BR1100FKA convertible is actually an interesting device with its surrounding bumper and splashproof case. However, it lacks the necessary configuration to be suitable for a wide range of use cases.
