Asus' ROG Global Twitter account has just released a CES 2022 teaser for what looks very like the long-awaited Flow Z13. This new device is touted to put a gaming twist on the convertible tablet form-factor. Judging by the design newly teased in its launch announcement, it seems this is very much the case for the first-gen device.

Asus has already promised an exciting showcase of new machines and accessories for gamers and non-gamers alike for its CES 2022 event. Now, it seems the exhibition will include an introduction for the ROG Flow Z13 to the world.

This device is touted as a cross between the Flow X13 and something like the Surface Pro 8, as the OEM is now hyping it as "the world's most powerful gaming tabletLenovo Legion Y700 gaming tablet stuns in real-world photos as speculation mounts over price, specs, and possible Y900 model". ROG Global has also now effectively confirmed its I/O ahead of its official debut.

These options have been said to include a full-sized USB type-A port and a 3.5mm jack. Asus' new poster, showing what may be 2 units of the device in profile to form a stylized 'Z', now reveals that this is the case, and they are to be joined by a microSD card slot and a USB type-C port.

HDMI is not in evidence, however: any space for this port is taken up by a proprietary Asus ROG XG Mobile-type interface, of the type that incorporates a second type-C port. It is also now apparent the the Flow Z13 has a kickstand, as well as a keyboard dock that might also provide at least some of the device's cooling solution.

The ROG Flow Z13's internals have yet to get similar treatment; however, the presence of a Thunderbolt logo next to the standalone type-C suggests an Intel platform. This and much more might be confirmed during the gaming 2-in-1's January 4, 2022 unveiling.
