ASUS ROG Flow X16: Convertible gaming laptop launches in Europe from €2,499
It has been a while since ASUS presented the ROG Flow X16, a 16-inch gaming laptop with a convertible design. Unveiled in May, it has taken over two months for ASUS to start selling the laptop in Europe, which is available directly or from third-party retailers. Originally due to launch at the end of last month in the Eurozone, the ROG Flow X16 has retained its €2,499 MSRP.
According to Notebooksbilliger, this configuration features a Ryzen 7 6800HS, 16 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. The retailer adds that GV601RM-M5023W also contains a Mini LED display that delivers up to 1,000 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. However, ASUS clarifies that this configuration utilises a lesser IPS-level panel, not a Mini LED one. Still, both display options operate at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and 165 Hz with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Instead, ASUS only equips the ROG Flow X16 with a Mini LED display if you also opt for the RTX 3070 Ti GPU option. Currently, these components are also restricted to the Ryzen 9 6900HS, which has higher clock speeds than the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Both contain eight Zen 3+ cores running at 35 W though, and feature AMD's new Radeon 680M iGPU. As it stands, the only way to order a ROG Flow X16 with a Mini LED display is to order the most expensive configuration, which retails at €3,999 with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2 TB SSD.
