CES 2022 | HP Elite x360 1040 G9 launched powered by Intel Alder Lake vPro and certified for Evo specifications
Similar to the Pro x360 with AMD Barcelo-U processors, HP also unveiled the Elite x360 1040 G9 at CES 2022 powered by Intel Alder Lake vPro processors. The HP Elite x360 1040 G9 shares a lot in common with its just announced clamshell cousin, the EliteBook 1040 G9 including the Intel Evo platform certification.
The Elite x360 1040 G9 sports a 14-inch 16:10 IPS touch display that is available in 250, 400, and 1,000-nit options. HP SureView Reflect and HP Eye Ease are available in the 1,000-nit panel.
The Elite x360 is an SSD-only machine, so there is no scope for adding 2.5-inch drives. Up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drive is supported. Unlike the EliteBook 1040 G9, the x360 can take only up to 16 GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM.
The Elite x360 offers a decent port selection that includes 2x USB 3.1 Type-A, 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x HDMI 2.0, optional nano SIM slot, and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. Networking needs are provided for by an M.2 W-Fi 6E WLAN card with Bluetooth 5.2 and optional 4G LTE/5G WWAN and NFC.
HP focuses a lot on security with the Elite x360 1040 G9. The 5 MP camera supports HP Privacy Camera and Windows Hello logins but an optional fingerprint sensor can be configured as well. Additionally, there's the HP Wolf Pro Security for Business security suite. The laptop has also been subjected to 19 MIL-STD-810H tests to ensure durable operation.
The HP Elite x360 1040 G9 is expected to be available in March. Pricing will be revealed closer to availability.
