MagyarCES 2022 | HP announces the Elitebook 805 G9 series of business laptops with the latest AMD Ryzen processors and 16:10 screens
The HP Elitebook 805 G9 series comprises three models, Elitebook 865 G9, Elitebook 845 G9, and Elitebook 835 G9. All models are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen mobile chips also announced at CES 2022. So, the key differences between these laptops are the screen diagonal and memory configurations.
The Elitebook 865 G9 has a 16-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 1200 IPS panel. While the aspect ratio, size, and resolution will remain the same no matter which Elitebook 865 G9 you choose to go with, you can choose between a 250 nits anti-glare panel, a 450 nits panel with HP Eye Ease, or a panel with both the HP Sure View and the HP Eye Ease.
You can spec the Elitebook 865 G9 with up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory which happens to be user-replaceable, and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage.
Finally, the battery capacity on the Elitebook 865 G9 tops out at 76 Whr. The battery can be charged with either USB-C or the charging port, both of which support fast charging.
The Elitebook 845 G9 is similar in every way to the Elitebook 865 G9 except for the screen size and the battery capacity. The Elitebook 845 G9 has a 14-inch screen and a battery that tops out at 51 Whr. Everything else, from the ports to the screen options is identical between the two models.
Finally, the Elitebook 835 G9 has a smaller 13.3-inch screen with the same aspect ratio and display configuration options as the other two laptops. However, the Elitebook 835 G9 can only be upgraded to 16 GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory. Sadly, unlike its bigger brothers, the memory on the Elitebook 835 G9 is not user-replaceable.
The Elitebook 805 G9 series of business laptops all undergo 19 MIL-STD-810H tests for added durability. Combined with the respectable specifications, these business laptops can be quite popular if HP gets the price right. We don’t yet have any information regarding pricing and availability.
