Chuwi has started selling the MiniBook X, a convertible laptop unveiled in December. To recap, the MiniBook X has a 10.8-inch display with a hole punch for a 5 MP front-facing camera. Chuwi has not provided any other details about the device's camera, other than it is a 'HD Front Camera'. Presumably, the camera can record videos in up to 720p, not 1080p.
Additionally, Chuwi described the display as having a 2K resolution, which is inaccurate. Instead, the company has clarified that the display operates at 2,560 x 1600 pixels, known as 2.5K or 1600p. Also, the display has a touchscreen layer and supports Chuwi's Hipen H7 active stylus. Chuwi powers the comparatively high-resolution display with an Intel Celeron N5100 processor, 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 512 GB SSD.
Currently, the MiniBook X costs US$619 through Chuwi's website. The company notes that the laptop will eventually rise to US$649, although it is unclear when. Incidentally, Chuwi charges an additional US$20 for the MiniBook X and Hipen H7 stylus, which also has a US$649 MSRP.
At the time of writing, Chuwi provides shipping options from China and Spain, depending on where you live. Chuwi states that orders placed with its Chinese warehouse will ship at the end of February, two weeks earlier than units from its Spanish warehouse. However, only those who live in the EU should order the MiniBook X from Spain.
