Chuwi has started selling a new version of the HiPad Air, a 10.3-inch tablet that supports a detachable keyboard. The HiPad Air continues to cost less than US$200 too, and is orderable globally.

Chuwi has released a refreshed version of the HiPad Air, a tablet that it introduced in September 2021. To recap, the HiPad Air has a 10.3-inch IPS display operating at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. Additionally, the tablet has a 7,000 mAh battery, a Unisoc T618 SoC and a 7 mm thick chassis. Originally, Chuwi priced the HiPad Air at US$199.99, too.

For some reason, Chuwi has decided to upgrade the HiPad Air from 4 GB to 6 GB of RAM. However, the tablet still has 128 GB of expandable storage and runs Android 11. It remains to be seen what performance difference including 50% more RAM makes, especially when the HiPad Air continues to rely on the same SoC. Thankfully, Chuwi has not increased the tablet's price, despite the moderate specification uplift.

Currently, the new HiPad Air can be purchased on AliExpress from Chuwi's official store, not from the manufacturer directly. Only available in one colour, the refresh HiPad Air starts at US$199.49 and rises to US$229.89 if you want its detachable keyboard. Chuwi estimates that it will deliver orders by late April, seemingly because it will dispatch units from China.
