Chuwi GemiBook Pro refreshed with an Intel Jasper Lake processor and a 14-inch display
Chuwi has upgraded the GemiBook Pro, a compact laptop that previously relied on the Intel Celeron J4125. Predictably, Chuwi has moved the GemiBook Pro up to Jasper Lake processors that consume less power than their Gemini Lake counterparts. Not only has Chuwi upgraded the GemiBook Pro to a newer processor, it has also installed a larger display.
Specifically, the GemiBook Pro now relies on the Celeron N5100, a quad-core processor that contains a UHD Graphics (Jasper Lake 24 EU) integrated GPU. According to our database, the Celeron N5100 should deliver roughly a third better CPU performance than the Celeron J4125, despite having a 6 W TDP, 4 W lower than the Celeron J4125.
Elsewhere, Chuwi boasts that the GemiBook Pro has a 14-inch display with a 2,160 x 1,440-pixel native resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Additionally, the laptop has a 180-degree hinge, a backlit keyboard and a 38 Wh battery that can be recharged via USB Type-C. Incidentally, Chuwi includes a USB 3.0 Type-A port too, along with a microSD card slot and a DC power connector.
Currently, the GemiBook Pro is only available in Space Grey with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Chuwi adds that the machine measures 310 x 229.5 x 20.6 mm and weighs 1.5 kg, making it rather heavier than many other 14-inch ultrabooks. The GemiBook Pro is orderable from Chuwi directly for US$379.99 or on Amazon, where it starts at US$359. However, Chuwi is offering a US$60 discount for Amazon orders.
