Chuwi has started selling the FreeBook, its 13.5-inch laptop that it unveiled earlier this month. The FreeBook has a 2K and 3:2 display paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and an Intel Celeron N5100 processor. Currently, the laptop is orderable for US$549.99.

Chuwi is having a busy end to the year, having recently announced the FreeBook and the MiniBook X. The company is now accepting orders for the former too, another convertible laptop with an Intel Celeron N5100 processor. As we have discussed previously, the FreeBook also has 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 256 GB SSD and a 13.5-inch display.

According to Chuwi's website, the FreeBook's display operates natively at 2,256 x 1,504 pixels, yielding a 3:2 aspect ratio. Additionally, the FreeBook has a 38 Wh battery, measures 301.4 x 267.4 x 17.2 mm and weighs roughly 1.36 kg.

The FreeBook has three USB Type-C ports too, along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Chuwi claims that the laptop also has two M.2 ports, but it is unclear if they are for two SSDs or a single SSD and a Wi-Fi modem. The FreeBook is only available in Space Gray.

Currently, Chuwi is selling the FreeBook for US$549.99, or US$579.99 if you want a HiPen H7 stylus. The company will ship the device from Spain if you live in an EU member state or China if you live elsewhere. FreeBook orders should begin shipping in early January 2022.
