The Acer Swift 3X SF314-510G only exhibits a few weaknesses in our review. Thanks to its fully exploited CPU and dedicated GPU, the multimedia laptop also delivers decent performance in many games, and it also boasts up to 18 hours of battery life.

Acer provides the Swift 3X with the model number SF314-510G-70DW with the Intel Core i7-1165G7 Tiger Lake processor as well as with the dedicated Intel Iris Xe MAX GPU. The latter shows what it can do with a clock rate of up to 1,650 MHz and 4 GB of video memory by not only delivering decent benchmark results, but also solid gaming power.
Thanks to the dedicated graphics solution, the multimedia laptop can also be used for the occasional gaming session. In our test, the vast majority of games ran solidly on medium graphics settings and in Full HD resolution. At times, performance is even sufficient for the second-highest graphics setting.
The CPU/GPU combination also shows its power in other applications. However, the relatively slow SSD sometimes prevents the device from achieving even better test results. Overall, the Acer Swift 3X SF314-510G-70DW delivers a level of performance that is more than sufficient to handle the usual tasks.
All of this is housed in an aluminum and magnesium case with a high-quality build. As a small eye-catcher, Acer provides the device with a turquoise-colored connecting bar between the hinges, which are quite stiff, but therefore quite stable.
The up to 17:30 hours of battery life and the fast Wi-Fi 6 stood out positively in our review. Besides two USB Type-A and one USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4, there is also an HDMI connection. However, the device lacks DisplayPort, LAN, and a card reader. The matte display is pretty bright at almost 380 cd/m², so the laptop can also be used well outside of closed rooms. Thanks to its weight of less than 1.4 kg, you can also move it around quite easily.
I have been fascinated by technology for around 25 years – especially technology that makes life easier rather than more complicated. Mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches are particularly close to my heart as is the booming subject of smart homes. I have been working in these areas for several years now as a news and reviews editor. I have been active with various websites, including the smart home blogs homee, Nuki, and siio, as well as tech portals such as Giga and TechRadar. I have been writing news and laptop reviews for Notebookcheck since 2020.

I've been fascinated with technology ever since I got my very first Android smartphone, which was quite a while ago. The power packed into such a small footprint still amazes me. Learning to program made my understanding of technology deeper, and at the same time, it expanded my interest to the area of desktop computers and laptops. All this led me to enjoy reading and watching reviews of new devices, and that's how I stumbled upon Notebookcheck. I immediately found their reviews to be very comprehensive, and luckily, I've even had the chance of translating them since 2019. When it comes to the huge field of technology, I'm currently also interested in specializing in Java programming.
