Eurocom doesn’t scrimp when it comes to configuration options, so those interested in picking up the Nightsky ARX315 superlaptop from the company are in for a treat as long as they have the money. However, the base model with a not-too-shabby power combo of an 8C/16T Ryzen 7 5800X desktop processor and GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card can be snapped up for a not unreasonable US$2,099.
Fortunately for power users, the Eurocom Nightsky ARX315 can be fitted with a 16C/32T Ryzen 9 5950X (add US$583) and up to 64 GB RAM (add US$1,017). Prices for the superlaptop start rocketing even further when it comes to options for internal storage and the first drive: An 8 TB SSD in the shape of a Sabrent Rocket Q adds US$3,333 to the total while a drive such as an 8 TB Micron 5100 Enterprise unit will push up the price tag by US$3,945.
The 15.6-inch display is non-configurable, so Nightsky ARX315 owners will have to be content ruling the world with their superlaptop on an FHD matte screen supplied by Sharp, which can apparently offer a tempting 240 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. Surprisingly, the ARX315 isn’t shockingly heavy, weighing in at 2.6 kg or 5.7 lbs. for the base model.
Obviously with a beast like this you would hope the cooling system was up to scratch, and for the Nightsky ARX315 Eurocom has gone with “high performance” and “high quality” copper heatsinks for both the CPU and GPU. “Excellent air flow” is on board, but if you can afford over US$3,000 for a drive then it might be worth also paying out the additional US$25 for the Grizzly Kryonaut thermal grease.
