OnePlus launches the OnePlus Buds Z2: midrange TWS buds deliver ANC, ultra-low latency, and nearly 2 days of battery life at US$99
OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS earphones across multiple markets. The US$99 TWS buds boast a number of headline features at that midrange price point.
The Buds Z2 support active noise cancellation with a 3-mic setup, along with Dolby Atmos certification. The buds deliver up to 38 hours of battery life on a single charge. The charging case incorporates what OnePlus describes as "Flash Charge" technology, capable of delivering 5 hours of listening time with just ten minutes of charging. The Buds Z2 incorporate the same 11mm bass-tuned drivers found in the premium Buds Pro, meaning excellent audio quality.
The Buds Z2 cut down on latency, too. The OnePlus Buds' 94ms audio latency is substantially better than the 140ms of audio latency measured with the AirPods Pro. Latency remains an issue that plagues most TWS sets, barring the handful with AptX Low Latency support. While the Buds Z2 aren't quite up there with AptX LL buds, they will likely deliver a better experience than standard TWS buds when watching videos or gaming.
At their US$99 price point, the OnePlus Buds Z2 seem to offer excellent value, with a rich feature set and great audio.
