OPPO's flagship Enco X earbuds launched with Dynaudio co-branding and claims of "HiFi" sound thanks to some in-house technology and support for the LHDC codec. Now, their second generations are finally officially slated for launch, according to the OEM's latest teasers.
OPPO's chief product officer, Pete Lau, has announced that the X2s are indeed on the way. The executive asserts that they will pack a "breakthrough" in sound quality, even going so far as to indicate that trying them for a few days had caused him to consign "all the thousands of wired HiFi headphones I bought" to a drawer (according to a Google translation of his comments on Weibo, at least).
Another company representative, OPPO's assistant vice president and head of IoT business Li Kaixin, also now hypes the Enco X2 buds' enhancement on Weibo, which, as they have been over a year in the making now, might be expected.
Neither official post reveals anything about their specs, although the famous leaker Digital Chat Station now expects them to land with 11-millimeter (mm) drivers, "wide-band" active noise cancellation to go up to 45 decibels (dB), SuperDBEE, "Hi-Res" audio, and LHDC 4.0 support.
Both executives have also now posted live images (occasionally taken using the Find N) for the product showing their design in full, possibly as there is little enough difference between them and the first-gen Xs in this respect.
They and their case do seem to have gotten shinier, possibly so as to match the upcoming Find X5. On that note, the Enco X2 buds are now scheduled to launch on February 24, 2022, the same day as that flagship phone.
