The OPPO Find X5 leaks in super-glossy mode thanks to new alleged hands-on images
OPPO is currently thought to have 2 versions of its next-gen Find X5 flagship smartphone in the works: one with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and one with the Dimensity 9000 instead. However, as a growing body of leaks suggests, there will be ways to tell the 2 putative premium devices apart. According to the latest leak, one of these will involve how they look.
The 'Snapdragon Edition' of the Find X5 series has recently emerged in an alleged live image suggesting that the glass of the rear panel would have a non-reflective finish. The MediaTek-powered variant, on the other hand, might be conspicuous due to the polar opposite.
A Weibo account called Evaluation Shop (as per Google Translate, at least) purports to capture the "Find X5" in new photos showing the phone with a practically liquid-metal effect to the silver version of its rear panel. There is also a rich blue much like that of the Find X3, finished in the same super-reflective fashion.
This may seem a slightly strange choice, as the rear panels resulting from OPPO's mattifying processes have met with critical acclaim as of late. Then again, the new alleged in-the-wild leak suggests that the Dimensity 9000-powered Find X5 will get the same camera hump as its Qualcomm counterpart.
On the other hand, its OEM's new in-house co-processor may only work with the 8 Gen 1: a prospective spec that might mark that version out as the Pro of its series. Nevertheless, the Find X5 might work for those who like a phone capable of acting as a mirror at need.
