Xiaomi 12: Global model lands on Geekbench in its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 8 GB of RAM form
The details about the Xiaomi 12 should already be well known, with Xiaomi having announced the device in December for its Chinese fans. To recap, the Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28-inch display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and a 4,500 mAh battery. Also, Xiaomi equips the device with the Sony IMX766 as its primary camera, a 50 MP sensor supported by a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 MP macro lens.
While Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 12 will launch outside China, it has not stated when. In the meantime, Xiaomi has certified the global version of the Xiaomi 12 with the SDPPI as the 2201123G, which has now appeared on Geekbench. So far, there is only one result on Geekbench 5 CPU, a screenshot of which we have embedded below.
As the listing shows, the Xiaomi 12 has 8 GB of RAM, one of two RAM configurations in which Xiaomi sells the device in China. However, Xiaomi decided against offering the Mi 11 with 12 GB of RAM in Europe, so it may do so again with the Xiaomi 12. We would not recommend reading too much into the benchmark scores though; the device in question could be running pre-release software.
The Xiaomi 12 should launch globally soon, although the Redmi Note 11 series could debut first. Xiaomi has already teased that the latter will debut on January 26, potentially with MIUI 13. Official renders of the global Redmi Note 11 Pro have leaked as well, as we have discussed separately.
