Xiaomi will launch both the Xiaomi 12 series and MIUI 13 at its event tomorrow. The company has now also confirmed that the new flagship phones will come with MIUI 13 pre-installed, with prior information indicating an imminent OTA rollout starting with phones in the Mi 11 and Redmi K40 series.

Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12 series tomorrow at an event in China. The company recently confirmed that the latest iteration in its skin, MIUI 13, will make its debut as well, and has now also announced that the Xiaomi 12 will ship with MIUI 13.

While this has been suspected for a while, this is the first time Xiaomi has confirmed it. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will make their debuts running MIUI 13; no need for OTAs to upgrade them from MIUI 12.5. As it stands, MIUI 13 looks to be an incremental upgrade on MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, with Xiaomi mostly focusing on improved app fluency over any features. That's hardly a bad thing as MIUI is already feature-packed and most complaints are performance-related.

After the Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi already has a list of 11 devices scheduled to get the MIUI 13 update in China. That list includes the Mi 11 series, Redmi K40 series, and others. It wouldn't be surprising to see the MIUI 13 rollout begin tomorrow.
