Xiaomi Watch S1: Stylish smartwatch launches in multiple styles with a large display

Xiaomi has released another smartwatch, the Watch S1. The company's latest smartwatch has a large and high-resolution display, plenty of exercise modes and a built-in GPS module, among other features. The Xiaomi Watch S1 starts at CNY 1,049 (~US$165) in China.

Xiaomi has launched the Watch S1 in three colours. Currently only available in China, there have been signs that Xiaomi will sell the Watch S1 globally. As Xiaomi's marketing images show, the Watch S1 comes in black and silver watch bodies, plus black, blue and leather watch straps.

All models have a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that Xiaomi has covered with sapphire glass. The 466 x 466-pixel display sits within a stainless frame and is complemented by two physical buttons. The 46 mm smartwatch also has 5 ATM water resistance, a built-in GPS module and a heart rate sensor, among other health-related sensors.

Furthermore, the Watch S1 has a 470 mAh battery that should last 12 days between charges. Over 110 exercise modes are onboard too, as is an NFC chip, a microphone and a built-in speaker. Accordingly, the Watch S1 can make and receive calls via a paired smartphone.

For reference, the Watch S1 is compatible with devices running at least Android 6.0 or iOS 10.0. The Watch S1 retails for CNY 1,049 (~US$165) with a fluoroelastomer watch strap and CNY 1,199 (~US$175) for the leather models.
