Fossil announced the Gen 6 last year, a TicWatch Pro 3 series competitor that remains adrift on the old Wear OS 2 platform. Skagen has now released its version of the Gen 6 too, appropriately called the Falster Gen 6. For reference, Skagen's last smartwatch was the Falster 3, an equivalent to the Fossil Gen 5.
As such, the Falster Gen 6 has a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. Like the Fossil Gen 6, the Falster Gen 6 also supports fast charging; the smartwatch can reach 80% charge in 30 minutes. The Falster Gen 6 has a 1.28-inch display too that Skagen complements with two physical buttons and a digital crown.
Additionally, the Wear OS 2-based smartwatch is 5 ATM water resistant, supports Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy and has an NFC chip for services like Google Pay. Based on initial reviews, the Gen 6's 300 mAh battery only yields a day of battery life, while its GPS, heart rate and sleep tracking accuracy is inaccurate. The Falster Gen 6 will not receive Wear OS 3 until the middle of the year at the earliest, too.
The Skagen Falster Gen 6 is orderable now for US$295. The smartwatch will ship later this month and is available in five colours. Skagen sells the Falster Gen 6 in Austria, Germany, Japan and the UK too, where the smartwatch is also purchasable.
