Xiaomi has taken to posting renders and teasers of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro ahead of the devices scheduled December 28 launch. Xiaomi has also revealed some specs of the phones but a new leak has now provided the closest look yet at the vanilla Xiaomi 12 in the flesh.
The leaked images show the Xiaomi 12 with three rear cameras, with the main lens on top almost definitely housing the 50 MP IMX766 main sensor. One of the two bottom lenses will be an ultra-wide-angle lens, but it's unknown if the third will be a zoom lens, with Xiaomi preferring to keep those for its most expensive models.
The design of the Xiaomi 12 is, well, elegant. It takes design cues from the Xiaomi Civi which was very well received when it debuted in China a few months ago. The rear of the phone is clean and minimalistic, and the phones appear to sport a textured finish. There's not much else to go by but the images strongly point towards a "less is more" philosophy, particularly impressive in an era of cluttered design. The Xiaomi 12 will make its debut in China on December 28.
