MIUI 13 confirmed to launch shortly as Xiaomi ends MIUI 12.5 development
MIUI 13, the next iteration of Xiaomi's in-house skin, is on its way. The company has confirmed, multiple times over the past few months, that a launch before the end of the year was planned, and it appears now that MIUI 13's debut is around the corner.
As revealed by typically reliable source Xiaomiui, the company is preparing for what looks to be the release of MIUI 13. Latest MIUI 12.5 changelogs announce that Xiaomi will suspend the development of MIUI 12.5 builds in expectation "of the adjustment of the software system architecture" and "the major version upgrade of Android". In other words, MIUI 13 and Android 12. Xiaomi sees no sense in continuing to work on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 builds when Android 12 and MIUI 13 are imminent.

- Due to the major version upgrade of Android, Redmi Note10 will suspend the release of the internal test from November 29, 2021.
Said changelogs confirm that the company will quit such development on December 13 and name-drops devices like the Redmi K30 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and others. We can assume that MIUI 13 will debut shortly after that date, likely alongside Xiaomi's next-gen flagship phone, the Xiaomi 12. When exactly remains unknown but it's almost certain to be sometime this month.
