Last week, Xiaomi brought MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition to the Redmi Note 9 on MIUI's global branch. Arriving as V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM, the OS update also brought countless fixes for the device's lock screen, status bar and notification shade, among others.
Now, Xiaomi has updated the Indian edition of the Redmi Note 9 to its new OS with V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM. The update contains far fewer changes than V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM does, though. Specifically, Xiaomi has included no bug fixes this time around, instead focusing on delivering MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition and the October 2021 security patch.
You can see what security changes the October 2021 patch makes in Google's latest Android Security Bulletin. Previously, V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM was a Beta Stable build rolling out to random handsets. However, miui_download now reports that the update has reached Stable, so it should be rolling out for all Redmi Note 9 devices on MIUI's Indian branch.
Typically, Xiaomi issues OS updates in batches. Hence, it could be a few weeks or even a month before your device receives a notification to download V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM. If you would prefer, you could trigger the update manually by downloading and installing either the recovery or OTA files linked below. Please note that these files are hosted on Xiaomi's servers and not on a third-party website.
