Xiaomi announces that it has sold more than 240 million Redmi Note smartphones worldwide and has opened 10,000 brick and mortar stores
It seems that Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand is going from strength to strength. In August, the company announced that it had sold over 200 million Redmi Note smartphones, having reached 140 million sales nine months earlier. Incidentally, the Redmi Note 9 series garnered 20 million sales in four months alone, likely through one of its 10,000 physical stores.
Now, the company has confirmed that it has sold more than 240 million Redmi Note handsets worldwide. Seemingly, sales have picked up even more speed in the last few months for Xiaomi to have moved from 200 million to 240 million in two months. Crucially, these sales figures exclude the Redmi Note 11 series, which Xiaomi has started with the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus.
Presumably, Xiaomi will breach the 250 million ceiling with early sales of the Redmi Note 11 series in China alone. To date, Xiaomi has not commented on if it will release the Redmi Note 11 series globally. Based on early findings, at least the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus will debut globally and in India as the 11i and the 11i HyperCharge. Details on any Redmi Note 11 release outside China is pending, though.
