MWC 2022 | The OPPO Find X5 Lite is Europe's latest Dimensity 900-powered smartphone
OPPO has launched the Find X5 Lite as a more affordable alternative to this new smartphone line's vanilla and Pro flagship variants. Like its new top-end family members, it has an AMOLED display, albeit a 6.43-inch FHD+ panel in this case, driven by a Dimensity 900 processor.
Then again, despite its designation as a Find X5 variant, it has debuted with a considerably different rear camera hump, both in terms of design and novel hiigh-end sensor quotients. The Lite offers a triple 64+8+2MP set-up that, as the OEM asserts, allows it to act as a "Bokeh Flair Portrait" specialist, a function active in both photo and video.
All in all, hardcore OPPO fans may have already put the X5 Lite down as a re-branded Reno7 SE. It is also eerily reminiscent of the OnePlus Nord CE 2, another phone that has coincidentally launched with a markedly slim z-height of 7.8 mm.
Then again, the X5 Lite has made it to MWC 2022 with its predecessor's 65W SuperVOOC tech for a 4,500mAh battery, whereas the Chinese-market Reno7 SE debuted with 33W charging. It will run ColorOS 12 rated for the same TÜV Süd 36-Month Fluency Rating A as the rest of the Find X5 series, even though the ROM is based on Android 11.
Those who can live with this software compromise may be interested to know the lone 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage X5 Lite SKU has been priced at €499 (~US$568), and will be available to order from March 21, 2022.
